Hey there oUo/ Nia here! I've recently asked for permission from my other group members, and so here I am, with our final opening for this group!
And what is this group, d'ya ask? Well, it's a Magical Boy group that's based in Discord and Google Documents. Many of us are artists, some just starting and others fully-fledged, and others not at all. In total, we've got 8 members (including me).
The group has kind of entered a small lull, and thus the reason I'm opening this—new members means more activity and rekindled interest! This post will teach you a little bit about our group, and end with a little tryout form! We only have space for ONE new member, though depending on the interest and types of tryouts I get, I may stretch it to two! That's it! So unfortunately it WILL be super competitive!

Premise
This is a story about a few high-schooler boys who always seem to get into trouble and tossed into Detention after school for one reason or another. After one fateful day, however, the small fluffy pet of one of those frequent detention-ers turns out to be a magical demon passed down from generation to generation! And he approaches these boys with a single question: "Will you help me save the world?"
Of course, he doesn't give them a choice, and they're blessed with magical powers like nobody has ever seen before!
Together they are the High School Detention Club, Magimorphosis-GO!
Style
High School Detention Club, Magimorphosis-Go is, indeed, the name of the group, also known as HSDC M-Go. Or you can just call it M-Go for short(er).
HSDC M-Go is a bit different than most groups, as this is a story that's 100% Collaborative. I may be the Game Master/Dungeon Master, but I only control some of the more OP characters. In other words, I'm more of an overseer to help things run smoothly than the person who runs everything and bends it at my will.
There is no set "Main Character," as the story strives to develop every single one of the boys, and we at one point also hope to give every single boy a moment in the spotlight, ie, give them a Character Arc full of blood, sweat, tears, and juicy character development.
The story is made by us, for us. All of us decide on the bad guys, the direction the story will take, etc! It is exactly as I said—It's a collaborative effort where we all work together to write a story! If this sounds perfect for you, then I encourage you to try out!
Story So Far...
The story itself hasn't really progressed much, since we entered a few lulls thanks to slow replies (me being one of them.) As of now, all we've done is introduced our characters and one of the main problems our kiddos are going to face. Thus, there will be nothing for you to worry about with a new character joining our ranks! We're not too far from the starting line, and there's still a bunch to develop!
Things we've set in stone already:
- Big Baddy #1 (Mistress Azalea, who's controlled by one of our lovely members, Sol)
- Main Conflict
We also have all of our kiddos developed as well as their powers and weapons. So as you can see, we're still not too far in 8'D
I won't give away too much, since this is our group for us, but I just want to put it out there again—don't worry about being left behind or lost! We'll get you up to speed and we'll dive right in!
Roleplaying
The literacy is a bit weird here. I mean, I'm sure you all know how to read and write, but we're using this word in the context of "how" we write.
All of us had a tryout (I showed the members my writing style) before getting into the group.
I don't ask for perfect grammar or spelling, your writing just needs to be legible. The main warning here is: our replies can sometimes be pretty long.
If you can't write more than one paragraph per reply, I don't recommend you try to apply. I'll collect some samples from each of our members and post the style of writing each of us have if you'd like to see it!
We have a character chatroom in the discord server that follows script-style writing, but it hasn't been used in a while. That channel is the only place where one-liners will be allowed.
For the most part, the main part of the roleplay is to be in paragraph-style.
We also encourage small 1x1 roleplays between members and their characters, which are at your own choice of style.
The main thing we're going to try to do, since the first "arc" is over (introducing all our characters), is planning out roleplay sessions, similar to DnD sessions. It's not all-roleplay all the time, it's more of a "let's roleplay out the more important parts and headcanon/worldbuild the rest."
Characters
Every kid in this roleplay fits into a sort of "trope."
I have identical twin brothers, one of whom is the Wimpy Crybaby, second one is the Brother Complex Snippy/Sassy trope.
They all have different reasons for being in detention, too.
My Crybaby kid's was "Middle-man of passing a note insulting the teacher."
And his brother "probably punched somebody." Ahahaha.
Every single one of our kiddos has a full profile, with their backstory and personality, and all that fun stuff. They all, power-rangers and magical kid genre style, have a set color that helps personify their personality a bit. Here's a small overview of the main boys:
Oliver - My Character #1 - 14, Freshman. Color: Sky Blue. Is quite the crybaby, and easy to pick on. He has no self-esteem whatsoever, and isn't exceptionally talented in anything. Him and his brother are the youngest of the bunch.
Jaime/James - My Character #2 - 14, Freshman. Color: Gold. Has a bit of a brother complex. Over-protective of his twin, and doesn't really like other people. Will gladly punch people who make him angry.
Nate - Sol's Character - 15, Freshman. Color: Green. A stubborn yet shy boy who cares very much for his family and the few friends he does have. Will fight for what he believes in, but not the kind to jump head-first into conflicts that don't involve him.
Ruby - Wolf's Character - 17, Junior. Color: Red. A bright, eager, and hyper boy who has a way to make everyone gravitate towards him immediately. Enjoys pranks, sassing people, and doodling fantastical scenarios.
Vince - Pilot's Character - 18, Senior. Color: Sea Green. Particularly uninterested and un-involved, the kind who prefers to spend time by himself. However, one can expect a certain loyalty once befriended.
Matt - Scry's Character - 17, Junior. Color: Deep Blue. The kind who will always stick up for those he cares for, and also known as the "mom" of the group. There when you fall, there when you cry, Matt will welcome you with open arms.
Jericho - Arte's Character - 16, Junior. Color: Wine. A daydreamer. The kind who tells stories everyone wants to hear, and is known as the Class's Siren. He has a way with words, easily attracting others to himself.
Ridley - Jol's Character - 18, Senior. Color: Hot Pink. A prideful, smiling individual who sees himself as "the joy of the world." Charismatic and rich, he can be quite generous with the money in his pocket.
Harvey - Klexos' Character - 15, Freshman. Color: Aqua. Nurturing and curious, but also just a little bit anxious. A perfectionist who aims to reach his personal standard constantly.
Aside from these guys, we also have "NPCs". As per the usual Magical Kid genre, we have our magical pet, who goes by Saint Fluffwuzzles, real name: Horatio, and is a super fluffy angora rabbit that's actually a centuries-old Demon.
You're free to make as many support characters as you want that will help develop your main boy :3
Applying...
First and foremost, I'm limiting this to artists-only... Though I may make exceptions depending on your writing style.

• What does your Schedule look like? Time Zone? (this has zero influence on your chances of getting in, btw. It's just so we can know how our time zones will match up and stuff.
• Do you have a Discord and Gmail? (You NEED these in order to be able to join, since we're a group based on Discord and Google Docs.)
• Do you like world-building? ('cuz hodang, we're gonna be doing a lot of it.)
