I've gone through and reorganized my trade and sale folder to better space out the offerings that I have and make everything easier to navigate. You can find the folder here.
A quick guide to what different tags mean:
- Trade means that the character is open to be traded for other character designs and/or art.
- Sell means that the character is open to be sold. I use PayPal for all character sales. Most characters who have this tag have a purchase price listed on their page. All the prices are listed in USD.
- Offer means that the character is for sale, but either has such a low initial price (less than 1 USD, typically) or that I cannot find the price that I originally paid, and so I am willing to entertain low offers for them.
In terms of what I look for in trades:
- Simple designs. I like characters that are easy to replicate or describe. Lots of colors or patterns are typically a no-go, though I may forego this qualifier if I really like a design.
- Monsters. I love monstrous designs, especially those with reptilian or insectoid traits. Mythological monsters are great, but I also enjoy more alien/unique designs. Cryptids and cryptid-like creatures are my favorites.
- Humanoids. With humanoid designs, I tend to like those with fairly realistic proportions, and tend to prefer more modern styles of clothing over fantasy or historical outfits. I don't have a preference across the gender or body type spectrum, though I don't have much use for younger looking characters.
- Traits. Pink and blonde hair, scars, tattoos, and piercings are some of my major weaknesses in character designs. I like formally dressed characters as well as pastel and mall goth and punk styles. My biggest weakness is a character with a nose that has been broken and reset crooked. I don't know why, I just love it.
What I do not look for in trades:
- Anthro. While I do love anthro and furry character designs, I have found that I don't click with them enough to actually role play with them.
- Closed Species. I like having flexibility with my ability to write, role play, and change characters as I see fit. I can't do this with most CS, and I don't really have an interest in looking up a particular species and reading through their information and rules to make sure that they are something that I would even be interested in.
If you want to trade art for a character design: I will talk to you privately via DMs either here or on Discord (whichever you are more comfortable with) and work out what you the artist think would be a fair trade. Since I am not doing any work in this kind of trade, I am more willing to trade 'down' so to speak and get less than what the character I am giving away.
Final Note: If I do not get back to you in a reasonable amount of time, you can always reply again. In all likelihood I saw your message while I was at work or otherwise preoccupied, deleted the notification out of habit, and forgot to look and/or respond to your offer. I am sorry if this happens. I prefer people stick to my trade folders, since my other three major ones are characters that I use in a regular capacity, and the chances that I would trade one of them away and not be able to keep writing for that character are really slim.
