[PSA ] Scammer : Crownling/Veinly

I am not instigating anyone to go after this user, I am simply constructing this as a WARNING most especially to anyone who may be engaging with them.
DO NOT berate / bully / witch hunt said user. Below will display my encounters with them as well as another user who would like to remain anonymous.

USERS INVOLVED:
Crownling (potential scammer)
Cappuchi (me)
Anon (Third person in 3-way trade)

ISSUE:
potential scamming
poor communication with non-excusable reason
stealing of other artists' artwork and using it as their art samples

TRADE INVOLVED: Three-way-trade
Anon will give Terra to Crownling in exchange for 3 Customs
Crownling will trade Terra to Cappuchi(me) in exchange for a Dainty

SUMMARIZATION of EVENTS:

I was approached by Crownling who voiced interest in a Dainty that I own.
They have given me a surplus amount of adopts to choose from, in which they
will negotiate with the Anon in hopes that they are willing to let them go for.
I selected a few that I am interested (but I will be only given 1).. but all adopts fell through.
I was constantly being badgered on what adopts I favored, Crownling will go off
and come back with no luck, this repeated many times already and I was feeling frustrated.
I ended up telling them that I am not comfortable with this constant rinse and repeat process
and that if this continued I will fall out of the trade. They understood and continued forth with the trade.

Several days have passed and I have poked them about the status, and they haven't responded.
But they came back suddenly telling them they got an adopt already and started the custom.
I asked them which adopt? (because I couldn't see the said adopt) I was overall confused and a
bit upset that they haven't gotten back to me saying that they CONFIRMED WHICH SAID adopt earlier,
and that they started a custom WITHOUT my go.

I told them I didn't want the adopt because I ended up finding a replacement and after not
hearing back from them for several days I would've assumed the trade is dropped
(most especially given to how they are iffy with their communication).

But I offered to help compensate (whether it be $ or design wise) was brought up because I felt a bit
responsible for the refusal (more so when Crownling mentioned that they finished with
one custom placed into the three way).

we talked and went over some form of settlement if they can manage to get an adopt that I prefer,
then we can try and pick things up again.. We just have to try and update each other on any updates.
but after 13 days of silence I decided to back out.

they said I need to pay $50 since that was the price for their custom
I asked them proof of their price charts (since I don't see any public statements of their prices)
the price indicated was near the top! (but according to Anon's convos, Crownlings has never done commissions)

I reasoned with them that I meant no intention to cover all of the payment,
since I won't be getting anything. At best I can perhaps offer $25
(half of the intended amount.. and the other half can be paid by the Anon since the trade will be off)
But Crownling said that was unfair which was personally an oof for me and raised some suspicion at how this wasn't a logical approach?

After explaining more on my feelings about this trade, I also offered designs next as another form of compensation
to which they didn't seem to like what I have provided and they decided on the voucher.

I notified the Anon and apologized for the canceling a three-way trade... but plot twist..
they DIDN"T know that this was even a three-way trade and received no updates on the custom status.
So the custom was NEVER even made. And that Anon has also voiced their concern and their fair share of
annoyance at how this was carried out. And from my gathering...

Crownling had intended of keeping the money as 'extra compensation' and the adopt that would eventually be given to them.

thus making me revoke the compensation and eventually confronting Crownling of their actions being unacceptable and blocking them.
UPDATE : Noted by Vienly (their alternative account) was given a note by them that I must address--
Despite what I was given being a note of an apology, I can not accept it and refuse to respond since it has been clear that their intentions
were clear. They were FULLY aware that what they were doing was wrong yet still carried out with the three-way trade.

to have the AUDACITY to come forth and apologize,
fully aware that stolen art to use as their artwork
was okay with TAKING MONEY from me despite it being compensation for the trouble
LIED about any progress to be made for the custom that they've done
CONSTANT pestering to LACK OF FOLLOW UPS in convos

I am lenient with certain things but this is not something that I can allow.
I do believe however with time, to reflect and to change, will this PSA be deemed to be out of date and
hopefully at that time I'll be able to clean my block list. But I do not see that happening any time soon.

The image labeled "A bit more modern" looked really familiar to me so I did a search; it ended up not being drawn by who I thought it was, but a yandex search got me this full image, which points to heartmush on twitter. Edit: Found the post.

Another search leads to this image, also by heartmush.

Not sure if heartmush is an alt account or they're pulling from them.

Pepperly oof busted buddy-- I knew it was a bit off?? I was analyzing some of their 'examples' and they were so inconsistant-- So this definitely helped distinguish the true artist! big yikes,,, this person has been known for constantly badging on characters owned by both me and my friend. I have a character which they had wanted and would spam me messages on replying when I'm in class or just busy and they would offer me points equvalent to the amount I was selling it for but it just seemed impossible because deviantart points do not go that high? They would keep pestering me after refusing points saying that it'll only take 2 weeks for the points to be converted to money. I feel that they've been doing this to many people as well

ah, they had recently tried to offer art to me too and i was pretty thrown off their examples looked nothing like the art they showed to me but i guess that well explains it.

Yonaei They seem to be infamous for this badgering... I am just---? Amazed at how many people they've been talking to (me and you and various others included!) They need to take a huge step back and reconsider on just reflecting. Because this is just too much. I'm sorry that you had to go through such trouble as well.

quicklevin honestly that was definitely one of the many reasons that alarmed me and raised some red flags.. thankfully the Anon was so vocal with me and showed me so much proof.. And honestly. I hope they keep their word (but my doubts are still there). Hard to keep out of a community if they are still present within the actual site, and the adopt forums are just a few clicks away.

heartmush I follow you on twitter and just saw this here :< I think it might be good to watermark with your name a bit more heavily to try and counter this type of thing. It at least makes things more difficult for people to easily steal and pretend it is their own. Especially when it is the artists name and on the characters body or close to their face - somewhere they would have to work to remove it. I'm really sad that this happened and hope it didn't actually effect anyone and nobody fell for it. I'm glad people picked up on the situation quickly enough.

I also really think this individual should probably be banned. Regardless of them taking a step away from the community they were a scammer and they shouldn't really be allowed on the site all the same...

heartmush as Milesian has stated, yes it is definitely helpful to have your works watermarked and resized in a smaller scale to prevent false commission advertisement!
