Hello, I need your peoples opinions. (apologies for my english)

I had dabbled in species creation back in 2018, but nothing came out of it (I forgor). The only remaining character I still hold onto is Talc.

Edit: I update this thread with some new pics and created more characters already

I called them ''khemirs'' or chemeras (chemisty + chimera), but thinking about renaming.

Semi-aquatic feral creatures with long feather-like fans, divided in two subspecies - with acid and alkali adaptations.

They live near a shoreline, in sort of magic/cursed world where tide is sometimes acidic and sometimes alkaline, so they survive by splitting population.

In times of great floods acid and alkali specimens can merge together forming huge fully aquatic "neutral'' lifeform.

Some acid/acid or alkali/alkali fusions in contrary adapt for drought/fully terrestrial lifestyle.

Some other ideas:

- have long flexible ear-antennaes that show creatures' mood

- teeth covered with lip that mimics teeth line (unique to each creature)

- acid subspecies have acid glands in the chin and additional fans on forelimbs/chest

- alkali subspecies have glands near the snout and additional fans near hind limbs/tail base

- instead of membranes they can flatten their fingers, or some combination of these adaptations

- fusions do not have any romantic/mating connotations and are used to survive harsh conditions, only genetically different adult specimens can combine however

- I want to make species intersex, and tie reproduction duties to weather e.g. with acidic tide, acid subspecies lay eggs & so on. (my enby ass...)

oml...ngl i wouldn't be able to draw them as well as you do, but the concept of acidic and alkali is so interesting to me? I feel like the tides themselves would be difficult to implement if they were all in one spot - I imagine then that somewhere along the way, the water being fed from rivers and such have different pHs that would create those scenes where you have two different colors of water clashing in the sea? something like that lol.

I don't have any name suggestions at the moment - maybe you can try something related to the sea or from the sea rather than combining chemistry and chimaera since those are pretty difficult to work with xD (And they probably wouldn't have the concept of chemistry).
