Home Planet
There’s a planet in the Unknown Regions called Velanos. Velanos is a mountainous, rocky planet. There’s a lot of plant life but for a long time animals didn’t exist. The dominant species on Velanos is called the Kamo. The first Kamo are thought to be descended from either Zyggerian settlers or genetically modified human outcasts, but nobody is currently sure. Kamo can be placed into the Star Wars universe; that is where they came from, but this is not required.

Overview
The Kamo (Homo felinious) is a sentient humanoid species that originated on the remote planet Velanos. Most Kamo are similar in approximate shape and proportions, although their height and weight can vary a lot. Similar to humans, some Kamo are Force-sensitive.
Appearance
Kamo are shaped mostly like humans. The main differences are in their hands, face, and hair (or lack thereof.) Kamo have felinoid eyes and ears. Their eyes can be any color including shades of red, pink, and purple, but those colors are less common. Instead of hair, Kamo have fur in stripes down their backs. The exact extent of the fur depends on the Kamo, but most have a stripe down their face starting just below their noses, a stripe halfway down your back, and some fur halfway down their upper arms. Kamo also have only three fingers and one opposable thumb on each hand. A way the Kamo are different than other catlike humanoid species is that they have no tails. Kamo can pass for humans with a bit of disguise; the most common ways to do so are either using a cloak and hood to cover their ears and fur, or shaving the fur and wearing a wig and fake human ears (which are surprisingly common on Velanos).
Culture and Naming
Kamoan names are quite distinctive. One Kamoan name won’t attract much attention, but more than one is a dead giveaway that you’re speaking to a Kamo. Kamoan first names are something the color of their eyes, usually a plant or animal, and their last names are in two parts. The first part is their fur color, and the second part is their family name. Childrens' family names are always the same as their mother's family name, and the family's full name is the father's name followed by the mother’s name. In same-sex marriages, the family name has the older Kamo's name first. For example, the mother Leaf Silverbrook and the father Sky Blackfeather could have a child called Frost Graybrook, but their family would be referred to as the Featherbrook family.

The most common personality is ISTJ-X, or a Logistician, and the least common is ENFP-X, or a Campainer.
