Last they checked, Tal stands at 5 feet tall and weighs 92 pounds. Their hair is chestnut brown and somewhat wavy. They almost always keeps it in a ponytail that reaches just past their shoulders. Their eyes are a bright lime green, with round pupils. They’re very fair-skinned, but below the elbows and knees, their limbs are covered in orangish-tan scales. Their legs are digitigrade and birdlike, with three toes and a dewclaw on each foot. All of their digits are tipped with short, sharp claws that they put to use when climbing trees, rocks, and various other things that they probably shouldn't be climbing. They have a two-and-a-half foot tail, which is covered in light brown protofeathers that superficially resemble fur. The protofeathers towards the end of their tail are longer and curve downward.

The vast majority of the time, Tal’s most unusual physical feature is hidden beneath their clothes. Sprouting from their back are a pair of small wings, each just over a foot in length from shoulder to tip. These limbs didn’t develop correctly in utero, leaving them malformed and atrophied. There are no flight feathers to speak of, only the same shaggy protofeathers that cover Tal’s tail. The wrist of their right wing terminates in a single curved claw, while their left wing has nothing at all past the wrist. These particularly fragile extremities were heavily damaged in an accident when they were a child, and never healed properly. Because of this, attempting to move them is painful. Tal strongly dislikes letting others see (let alone touch) their wings, and makes a point to keep them hidden whenever possible.

In terms of clothing, they gravitate towards tees with fun designs, comfy sweatpants, cargo shorts, and colorful short-sleeve button-ups. And of course, there are those ever-present glasses. 

Often, Tal presents themselves as confident, snarky, and full of bravado. However, this is largely a facade to compensate for their natural shyness. Though generally closed-off and deeply introverted, they are desperate for the approval of others. While they’re quite book-smart, they struggle greatly with social skills. Aware of this fact, they constantly second-guess themselves and turn meek and apologetic when they suspect that they’ve messed up. It takes a lot to bring them out of their usual aloof demeanor, but when they do feel comfortable enough to open up, they reveal themselves as a dorky chatterbox eager to share their interests. At heart, Tal is a kind and compassionate person with a lot of love to give to anyone willing to tolerate them.
