✩ -- Art 'n' Writing Commissions [ Re-Opened! ]

Posted 1 year, 10 months ago (Edited 5 days, 4 hours ago) by Xhat

Hello and welcome to my commissions thread! I offer a wide variety of commission options, feel free to browse through this thread to your heart's content. I don't have a specific order form, so if you're interested in my work either leave a comment here or send me a message, and I'll be happy to work something out with you. Be aware that my terms of service apply, so please take a look prior to ordering. <3

News & Updates: Commissions have now re-opened!

FAQ:

  • Do you do NSFW? -- Yes! I can do a basic NSFW references, mild NSFW artwork (gore included), and NSFW written pieces so long as you're 18+. Please contact me by DMs for examples.

  • What can you draw? Write? -- I can draw anything asides from mecha characters, and can write pretty much anything. However, I do have a list of hard-no's and retain the right to reject any commission I don't feel comfortable with.

  • How do you accept payment? -- You can pay me through paypal for larger orders, and Ko-fi for smaller orders. Orders over $100 are eligible for payment plans. I also have voucher lists, please inquire for more.

Chibis and Pagedolls

I have two main styles with my chibis and pagedolls: those done with a traditional rounded brush, and those done with a flat brush. I default to the more traditional brush, so please do let me know if you have preference for one or the other.

  • Base Price for Chibis: $10 USD

  • Shading Prices: Minimal at no extra charge, $3 for full shading.

  • Couple Prices: 2x the base price.

  • Add on an abstract background for an extra $2, or a semi-complex one for $5.

Unless specified otherwise, these two options come coloured with minimal shading, coloured interior lines, and a white outline. If you'd like to opt out of one of these things, please let me know prior to me starting your commission.

Lined Artwork

My lined artwork option covers a wide variety of possibilities. I offer several different sizes, ranging from busts to fullbodies, at varying price points. If you've seen something in my art tab here on toyhouse or elsewhere and would like something in the same vein - as my art style does fluctuate in some aspects - let me know and I'd love to recreate the style for your commission so long as it's within reason. ^^

  • Base Price for Busts: $9 USD.

  • Base Price for Halfbodies: $16 USD.

  • Base Price for Fullbodies: $25 USD.

  • Couple Prices: 2x the base price.

  • Add simple shading to your piece for $2, or complex shading for $5, per character.

Lined artwork typically comes with a transparent background, however I am open to adding backgrounds to certain pieces. Simple backgrounds (or objects in the foreground) typically start around the $3 mark, and semi-complex background begin at $5.

Lineless Artwork

My lineless artwork can be distinguished just by that: a lack of lines! Like one of my other commission types, lineless artwork is also offered in busts, halfbodies, and fullbodies. It tends to have a softer look than my lined artwork.

  • Base Price for Busts: $15 USD.

  • Base Price for Halfbodies: $20 USD.

  • Base Price for Fullbodies: $30 USD.

  • "Crayon" Portraits: $20 USD - see leftmost image for an example.

All lineless art comes with basic shading and highlights so that areas of the artwork can be distinguished from one another, as well as a solid-coloured background. Complex shading is an extra $6. A transparent background may also be requested free of charge. While I do not offer "true" backgrounds (ie. scenes) for my lineless option, I can include objects for an extra fee, like weapons, flowers, etc, or create something abstract.

Reference Sheets

Reference sheets are perhaps my most fluid commission option, as they can incorporate a variety of different things. While I offer three main tiers, you are more than welcome to mix and match, or send me a message with exactly what you're looking for and I can give you a price quote.

  • Tier One: $28 USD. Comes with a full-body, a small bust, and the name/palette.

  • Tier Two: $35 USD. Comes with a full-body, two small busts or a halfbody, and the name/palette.

  • Tier Three: $55 USD. Comes with a full-body, two small busts or a halfbody, a second fullbody with your choice of an alternate view [back, front, accessory, etc.] and the name/palette.

The contents of a reference sheet are flat-coloured, lined, and have minimal shading to provide a clear look at the design. I don't shade my reference sheets beyond basic lighting, as it might hinder the job of any artist who might be using it as a reference in the future for character artwork.

Pixels & Animation

This commission option is currently closed unless I have explicitly approached you beforehand! Apologies.

I am able to do pixels - animated, and non-animated. These tend to be my main area of interest, but I also offer animation for my regular art style as well. Please specify which particular style you're interested in if ordering!

  • Animated Pixels: Under 200x200px starts at $15 USD, while anything over that limit starts at $20 USD.

  • Non-animated Pixels: Under 200x200px starts at $10 USD, while anything over that limit starts at $15 USD

  • Regular Animations: Price varies. Typically starts at $20 USD.

While I am willing to attempt most anything, my experience insofar as animation right now lies in anything depicting a character from waist-up. I have done things like chat boxes in the past, blinking, ear flicking, so on and so forth. If there's something specific you're after, shoot me a dm and I'd be happy to chat!

Custom Designs

Alongside my traditional commission options, I also offer custom character design. I can take inspiration from anything, with a little bit of your guidance: moodboards, playlists, written descriptions, or even just a list of your ideas. As far as species I can create designs for, I can do anything within the realms of human, human-like, anthro/furry, and feral. Fandom designs are a-okay too so long as I'm familiar with the fandom!

  • Starting Rate: $30 USD. Comes with a flatcolour fullbody of the design.

  • Special Rate: $28 USD for both Pokemon & Fakemon, as well as simple MLP designs with a cutie mark. Extra evolutionary stages may be added to Pokemon designs for an additional $10.

When requesting a character design, please include some of the following information: character inspiration (songs, sketches, moodboards), character details (personality, age, etc.), and anything extra (ie. character posing, etc.). You can elaborate on some points or simplify them according to your wishes.

Note that the design price rises based on complexity of the design, and whether you'd like it situated on something like a reference sheet (ie. a back view, alternate outfits). If you happen to order a reference sheet of the same design anytime in the future, remind me and I'll take 25% off of the reference sheet.

"Disgraced"

A test chapter for a future writing project, potentially novel. Features original characters and a mythologically involved plot.

Summary: "A demi-god finds themself in hot water one too many times, and Zeus has had enough. They are faced with their inevitable unmaking."

  • Total Word Count: 2038 words.

  • Content Warnings: Violence and Light Gore.

Fairly or unfairly, here he was pinned. The jagged end of the blade cut against his neck, and it seemed as though with the slightest of movement his throat would be slit - even the slightest bob of his neck threatened to bring bloodshed. So, as still as he could keep himself, the demi-god fought not to cower beneath the towering might of Zeus. Not that he thought to cower, though: the whirlpool of emotions roiling within him was proof enough. With each moment this rage threatened to bubble to the surface, to spill out, to consume the almighty god standing above him.

“Enough, Palírr.” Zeus’ voice was as you’d expect: loud, booming, carrying with it all the authority of a revered god. The scowl on his face, plain as his penchant for lightning and power, is evidence of his current mood. In other words, Zeus is not happy. Not at all.

“You petulant child,” the god of gods seethes, beard bobbing with every movement on his mouth. “Still you take advantage of what we gods have given you! Still, you wreak havoc, bringing upon us bad graces!” Zeus’ arm whips back and slams down with pure, unadulterated fury, and the blade he’d been holding lands a hair's breadth away from Palírr’s exposed neck. The demi-god’s lip ripples upwards in a soundless snarl, and it takes every inch of his being to prevent him from leaping upon Zeus and throttling him.

What makes it worse is his father, Poseidon. Despite presiding over the world’s storms, none of the god’s typical turmoil makes itself known. Instead, he stands silent, eyes unfocused and unwilling to meet his son’s gaze. Palírr had already tried to reason with him, to try and find some solution that would rid him of the situation at hand - but no, his father had been unwilling to help. That unwillingness had still not changed, and so the god of the sea stood and watched as his son took the brunt of Zeus’ temper.

Zeus himself had begun to pace, fingers clenching and unclenching at his sides, mighty fists seeking to strike. How he wished to smite the foolish boy right then and there, regardless of Palírr being both demi-god and nephew. Blood ties were damned at this point. “We have given you everything a being could wish for, boy,” Zeus is still left seething, eyes reflecting the righteous lightning that sparks at his fingertips. “Power, status in Olympus, access to things only us gods know of. Your father and I raised you here, with hopes that you would become great. And yet you squandered it all.”

After pushing himself into a sitting position, Palírr finally finds his voice. His voice isn’t nearly as powerful as Zeus, but the unbridled rage woven within his words has the potential to rival it. “You think that I have taken advantage of it? Perhaps you have me confused with another half-witted god.” Momentarily his gaze flits over to his father. “Never in a millennium would I ever think of doing so,” Bright eyes alight, Palírr finally lets loose the snarl that had been lurking low within his gut. “Uncle.”

This was the breaking point for Zeus. No longer could he stand being spat at, treated as if he wasn’t the highest power in existence. The lightning explodes from his fingertips, lighting up their surroundings, and several of his accompanying gods raise their limbs to shade them from his outburst. Roaring, all the might he held echoing in his voice, Zeus rounds on Palírr.

“You are no longer considered my nephew, Palírr.” Contrary to his previous eruption, Zeus’ tone has taken on a quiet, commanding edge. He would hear no more, and neither would any of the other gods: the demi-god has long overstayed his welcome. Deaf to the arguments that bubble to Palírr’s lips, Zeus’ voice rises to address the onlookers. “From this moment forward, you are no longer considered a member of Olympus. I strike you down of all your titles, including your presiding over the earth’s tides, and henceforth you shall be known merely as Seonaid.”

Unable to think of anything else, Palírr cries out, “That is a woman’s name!”

"Shattered Seal"

A Vaati-centric (LoZ) fic created for a Nintendo zine.

Summary: "Seconds. Minutes. Days. Years. How long had it been since he'd been imprisoned here, in this darkness? It has been so long that he has forgotten his own name. But now - now is the time for freedom, for escape and reinstated power."

  • Content Warnings: None.

  • Total Word Count: 1712 words.

It wasn’t a pleasant feeling, being bound to a sword in stone. There was a constant state of darkness, of all-consuming shadows, forming a barrier that was seemingly impenetrable. And there he floated, bound to no one and to no thing. Burning gaze focused on nothing in particular, the mage’s thoughts - much like himself - were scattered into bits that he couldn’t seem to fully grasp. A shred of rage here, a thread of loneliness there, but nothing truly comprehensible.

Who was he, truly? He couldn’t even recall his own name.

What he could remember clearly, though, was the vividness of spring buds: a greeness that burned the back of his eyelids. Occasionally other colours would pass his mind’s eye: blue, red, purple. Sharp eyes, four pairs of them, scalding him wherever they dared to look. The telltale aching of his wounds, slashes rending his skin in all the places that truly hurt. Then, without warning, came the blackness that currently enshrouded him.

There it was: another seed of emotion. Yet, unlike the others that he had experienced until now, it coursed through his veins like fire. It was a true feeling, not the tatters of something long gone.

Rage.

The body of his imprisoned self curled in on itself, lips upturning and features contorting into a snarl. His eyes burned brighter, vermillion almost, casting a hazy glow onto his nonexistent surroundings. Hands upturned so that he could stare at the delicate lines that traced their way across his palms, delicate veins rich against his pale skin. Was this all he was? A soul, a ghost, reduced to nothing but a huskless creature?

The rage shook him once more. Faint recollections of power, so great that it had crackled at his fingertips, began to seep back. He had been someone once, someone who had commanded the attention of all those plebeians who dared to look upon his mortal form. Fear, reverence, despair, all inspired by him. There hadn’t been a single creature in the entirety of the land who had even the faintest thought of facing him.

Hadn’t been - then, suddenly there was. Similar to how he couldn’t remember his own name, the question of “who” remained: who had dared to oppose him? Who had it been that shoved him into this eternal misery, this blackness which caged him?

Reminiscing would get him nowhere. As soon as the thoughts came, they left, as all had before them. They slipped away, as if the void had sought to reclaim them. His memory was no good in this state, asides from the vindication that lingered, weighing heavy on his soul.

That was when the crack appeared. For however long he had been subject to staring off into the void, he had come to know the shadows as if they were an extension of himself. This - this was different. Aimlessly the being drifted closer, hand reaching out to tentatively brush against the blemish. Much to his surprise, the black seemed to flake beneath his probing fingers, especially as one of his nails nicked the very edge of the fissure. Beyond laid more white, at the very least more white than he had seen since being sucked into this prison.

Perhaps, perhaps.

"King Lycaon"

A drabble created on a whim. Features original characters based on Greek mythological stories.

Summary: "Being a werewolf is a tricky thing - but being the first werewolf in existence? Now that's a whole puzzle in itself."

  • Content Warnings: Gore, Animal Death, Implied child death.

  • Total Word Count: 1102 words.

The tale of King Lycaon, steadfast ruler of Arcadia and progenitor of many, was a story that countless had heard. Although a man of prestige and honor, respected by his citizens for all that he’d done for them, his status as a mere pitiful mortal meant nothing to the powers above.

Bones cracking, blood spilling. Under his skin they moved, bending to a will that was surely not his own.

Lycaon had felt no remorse for attempting to feed his youngest son to the highest god of all. It was a test of omniscience, to see if Zeus was truly as all-seeing as his followers had believed him to be. He had endured the devotion that had swallowed his people whole, doubting the dominion of the gods all the while. Who was to think that a heavenly bolt would arc down from the sky, or that he would be struck down by Zeus himself?

Fangs bared, sinking deep, drowning the sun in a spray of oil-slick black.

With the kingdom’s trust crumbling around him the once-great king had found solace in the forests, where their old, strange magic wrapped about him like an old friend. At first he had stumbled over brambles and pine needles, unsteady on the large paws that carried him forward. Claws scraping at earth and tattered, dirt-sodden clothes snagging on branches, the ruined beast had thrust himself away from all he had ever known.

The forest exuded a magic different from the gods’, which had been harsh and blinding. There the magic taught him, all-encompassing yet unwilling to allow him to leave its borders for very long. He was always pulled back, by something or another. Boughs seemingly stretching down towards him, the forest told Lycaon of all it could teach him: if he was to come back from the rare ventures outside of its protective circle, he must learn. To keep him coming back, it only released small bits of its knowledge, dangling its secrets above his head.

Asides from digital artwork, I also offer commissions of the written kind, and dare I say that it's the most enjoyable of all. This mainly lies in prose like short stories, but I have also done commission work for character descriptions and character histories. Written commissions can be SFW, NSFW, or a mixture of the two. Please see below for my rates.

  • Base Rate: $1.50 USD per 100 words (0.015¢ per 1 word, rounded up to the nearest cent).

  • NSFW Upcharge: +50% of the cumulative base rate.

  • Maximum Word Count: 6000 words. Can do multiple installments, but only 6000 words may fit into one commission slot (multiple required for works exceeding that).

  • Minimum Count: 500 words. Anything below that limit is charged a short order fee to a cumulative $5 USD.

While work featuring original characters is my main field, I can also create reader-insert commissions if that's of more interest to some. See here for a list of fandoms that I am comfortable writing for. Please contact me privately for a list of the NSFW topics that I will not include in my writing as they are only available for those who are 18+.

An excerpt from a recent commissioned Arknights fic! I'm not including a link to the full version as other portions of the story contain NSFW material, and have opted instead to include some of the SFW parts. <3

Ayerscarpe should’ve really dug in his heels, been a little more firm, or came up with some paltry excuse even if it had meant stalling for an extra hour or two. Not for his own sake, but for the dawning horror currently spreading over Leonhardt’s pretty face.

Has Ayerscarpe ever told him that; spoken those words to his face, rather than relying on the subtle actions that surely made up his love language? The fear spread across Leonhardt’s face doesn’t suit him, even though he was no less beautiful wearing that expression.

Stone cracks against the back of his skull, teeth bared in scarcely concealed pain as he hits the ground, and he jolts out of his reverie.

Ayerscarpe’s head lolls, thoughts scattered as he rolls through the dirt. Hands reach out blindly to grasp on something that would steady him, but the world continues to spin. He can make out a shadow coming closer, stepping over where he lays prone and raising a fist high above their head, a strange hook-bladed weapon clutched within.

He takes that moment, where time seems to stand still, to look back over to where he’d last seen Leonhardt. The fear has now washed from his partner’s face, replaced by a cold, unblinking front that Ayerscarpe rarely has the pleasure of seeing.

‘Ah, seems like he’s finally gotten serious. They’re in trouble for sure.’ At that thought, Ayerscarpe’s vision begins to swim in a dizzying array of colours, and he lays his head back down into the dirt as though it can soothe the vicious pounding at the back of his head. The enemy may be just above him and the drive to protect, to guard, still simmers, but he’s smart enough to know when to hand the reins over to Leonhardt.

There was but a spark in the air, a faint grating sound only long enough for the assailant to raise his head in questioning, and the ground begins to shake. Ayerscarpe hauls himself onto his elbows, taking advantage of the distraction and managing to roll over behind a pile of boulders sturdy enough to shield him. Hopefully.

Here's a snippet of a writing commission I completed back in December for the lovely huuyuri of their OC and a canon character in TGCF!

Ripples halo away from his ankles, the water lapping at his skin cool in the early morning sun. Yang Xunyi bends to a copse of flowers at the edge of the bank, their white, bell-shaped laden with dew, and he brushes their leaves gently away from the roiling stream. The water levels would be rising come Summer, and he has half a mind to relocate the flowers to a spot where they wouldn’t be touched by the swelling ebb and flow. Every morning they greeted him, sweet-smelling and swaying, and they’d long since become a welcome sight - a sign of familiarity, especially after the recent incident.

He looks to the forest at the thought. The child had come unusually early this morning, bringing him a steaming bowl of rice porridge and leaving him with a smile curling at his lips, before disappearing back to wherever their parents undoubtedly needed them for the day. Yang Xunyi was given quite the scare when the little one had fallen into turbulent waters, and though there had been some lingering regret at their frightful, bawling face as he spirited them away to safety, it had all but dissipated as the child had come back. Again, and again, until their expression shone with delight every time they stepped through the treeline.

At least he’d found a friend through it all.

Pulled from his reverie, Yang Xunyi turns, head tilted as he looks into the foliage running parallel to where the spring narrows into a stream. A branch cracks beneath a foot, echoing out through boughs and over the gurgling steam, alerting him to another presence.

Whoever it is strides with purpose towards a goal likely in mind, but it’s obvious he has yet to clearly spot Yang Xunyi where he wades through reeds. The relaxed panes of the approaching man's face belay the whisper of what Yang Xunyi had seen etched into statues, but he appears unbothered, almost as calm as his own waters before the sun peeks over the horizon. His face is unhidden by a disguise that might have tricked Yang Xunyi into believing that the man is some stranger stumbling through the wilderness, and so he rises to meet the martial god who has somehow found their way towards his sanctuary. Something nibbles at the very back of his mind: this man is familiar, but he simply cannot seem to place his finger on just who is approaching him. Regardless, it’s best that he makes his way back up onto dry land.
