PSA - SCAMMER - IKASHIMA ( Possible resolution pag

Posted 7 years, 1 month ago (Edited 6 years, 11 months ago) by Muley

:EDIT: Ikashima has issued an appology post on page 8, for anyone interested in seeing.

This is a post to alert you guys that there's been someone who's been "commissioning" artists, only to have charged back the payments after receiving the majority of their art.
There's no way to get back the money once the dispute goes out, as paypal will instantly refund that user "their money" even if you give receipts of your transaction.

The user in question currently is http://toyhou.se/Ikashima
:EDIT: their DA username was meltymilks, but the account has since today been deactivated.

They commissioned several artists the past two days, and all have receive chargeback to their accounts.
They had a deviantart, but that account seems to have been deactivated.
and they are not responding to pms.

Some people, like myself, have already spent the money they rceived, so now have a huge deficit in their paypal balance. Which means any commissions we do going forward, are solely going into paying off the "debt" we now owe paypal.

This is truely rude and unfair to the artists who've put in the effort to draw these pieces, AND who're now out the money.

If you have more to share on this subject, or know any other users who've done this in the past while, please share in the comments, so that everyone can be made aware of the situation.

:EDIT:  with an update to the situation.

Sooo, this is getting even worse, not only are just other artists coming forward letting us know they got scammed too, the adopt creators of the characters this person “purchased” ALSO got charged back.

The adopt artist so far that’ve gotten scammed were :
http://aoiku.deviantart.com/
http://soleilrune.deviantart.com/

(~surprise~)
So, now there’s an unpaid and now owner-less adopt floating around, with a butt ton of unpaid for art of it.

Just…. amazing…

this wasn't a "witchhunt", this person did not reply to anyone + abandoned all their accounts. only when everyone who got ripped off gathered together and started making PSAs did they come through to say "hey my mom did the chargebacks, ya'll are being too mean to me so im not gonna reply to any notes or threads"
this is NOT how this should be handled. no one would have had to make assumptions to begin with if Ikashima had just come forward and explained what happened. refusing to communicated with ppl cuz they can't handle the consequences of their actions shows how remorseful and dedicated to making things right they really are (as in, not very). ppl have the right to be annoyed at what happened to them, saying "i wont reply to your notes cuz ur mad at me" is shitty behavior that helps no one. even if it was an accident that doesnt mean you're free from blame or have the right to demand ppl coddle you after you screwed them over :|a

Ikashima (and people in general)

I want to point out that reselling characters is a good idea, but it is unlikely to make enough money to pay back everyone affected. The best way is for everyone to win their chargeback cases.

Ikashima

Ah, I've said some harsh words in my confusion as well. I am sorry to hear of the situation. But communication is everything! We artists are... sadly very used to being duped. So we do have an unfortunate tendency to jump the gun. Even if you had too many to reply to individually, even if things seemed stressful, saying something somewhere would have helped. All of my frustration was the lack of communication on top of a growing number of people coming forward. Damage control is so important when you're at the center of these things. We're all as individuals understanding I'd hope, and as you're willing to work to make amends I hope things will turn around for you and everyone. I'll be refunding my commission for you soon since i haven't started it yet. Hopefully that money can pay back someone.. ;o;

I'm sorry for the stress but I only hope you can learn from this! Thank you so much for saying something, despite everyone's sterness believe me its extremely appreciated.

Ikashima

Thank you so much for explaining about the situation on your behalf.
Truth to be told, i was actually really happy that the adopt that you got from me, got a very loving home.  It's really fun to see the character that you bought from me developed into something more fun and alive.  You give them story, character and love.
Honestly, when these things happened, i can only imagine that things are actually getting out of hands, and i know considering we have close community like this, people would usually bombarded you with pm's and note's and mean words on your page.
I totally understand that being overwhelmed, you have tendency to ignore all these altogether.
I'm happy that you've come forward for these, i'll be updating the journal about these matter.

About the adoptable,
unfortunately, you have lost all rights toward him, as I have already refunded the payment to you.
Following the breached of my rules that i've set, you are now not holding any rights on the adopts the moment i've refunded the money.
I'd ask that you transferred all ownership on the Oborie adoptable back to me in Toyhou.se, or just to make everything easy, you can delete him from your toyhou.se page, so people won't get confused on whose owning the adopt now.

I've settled, not all, but some of the completed commission of the adopt that have the commissioner funds being taken away from the chargebackas.
If you need any help or clarification on this matter, don't worry about hitting me with 'pm'.  I'll try to answer any questions that you might have.

I'm sorry yet again that this happened to you and thank you for being forward to us.

Chib

I understand both sides in saying that you could've explained this to us sooner instead of just not replying to us at all;; ((I apologise if the last message was rude, but I was very uncomfortable with the whole situation--
However I'm really happy that you decided to speak out in the end!! I understand your situation, and I do hope this whole mess is gonna be cleared up in the end
Ikashima I'm sorry to hear abt the whole thing and I'm hoping for the best, I can't imagine how it felt when you found out what was going on yourself, and I understand the stress --
Again, thanks so much for speaking out and for letting everyone know, this means a ton to everyone, including myself qq )b

UPDATE: Wanted to add that I live in such a dumb country that I'm not able to call PayPal, so I can't even do anything regarding my problem, while most of you can I think(? If you live in any other country other than mine probably)
I am not able to make a proper complain either because of where I live, and the fact that my country has a ton of problems when it comes to using PayPal (which I do hope changes over time)

Chuchuana

While I appreciate the communication now, I agree wholeheartedly with wicked. I have zero sympathy.
This isn't fake currency that's being dealt with; it's real money that affects artists lives. Multiple people here were put into the negative, and all of us were left without any explanation and left to panic and wonder how we were going to fix this. This was my first and only message to you (copied and sent across different platforms), to which you promptly abandoned each account I tried contacting you on. There is no excuse that you couldn't have thrown together a quick 1-2 sentences, a message to copy and paste, explaining that there was a mistake, and that you were cancelling all of the disputes or fixing the situation. If you're able to keep and maintain your own money and buy commissions, you should be able to effectively and promptly communicate with the artists you purchase from, especially when something like this happens.

Stinkywinkyimove

Understand both sides, but simulatenously
A quick sentence would end up making most artist angry considering the lack of info that would then be given
Agree that this message could have come sooner, but any quick explanation given woulda been a poor move. I've seen people go that route, and it usually ended up with them being even more villified

Ika's response is very thought out, and I think this more thoughtful approach worked out better for them.

Though, I am curious.

These chargebacks were very recent? i don't understand why they can not be canceled? The answer is probably obvious, but I am not that savvy with paypal.

spicytunaroll

Ikashima thank you for finally giving your part of the situation,,,, but like..... i don't understand why you have to resell adopts you still own right now to repay everyone? if all the money you spent was yours to begin with, i do not see the reason why you are delaying everyone's payment - especially when some ongoing commissions have been cancelled, plus payments for some adopts have been reversed & the adopts themselves are resold already so you're no longer responsible for those. soooo the only conclusion i can make from that is: there are funds available to repay everyone??

i just??? don't know where to post this, the drama's already dying down so it seems pointless to keep posting here but if i pm'd, this would get ignored???

but my question now is: how are you going to repay everyone that aren't lucky enough to be a part of the re-auctioning of the adopt going on? do we have to claim our payment from you thru PM??? but you're ignoring PMs...................... so???? ? ?? do i send u an invoice as a reminder you still owe me something??? what???? i really agree w/ wicked right now. this is the time where communication is extremely important but you won't communicate at all........................... i see someone posted a pic of a message they sent to you... it was more than respectful, there were no insults thrown into it, it's not fair that you won't communicate w/ everyone affected by this

the thing is, i was pretty chill about this last (last) night, i was lucky enough to get the funds to offset my negative balance quickly enough, and i refunded you so i wouldn't have to deal w/ this anymore. but after seeing how you're not willing to communicate any further than your apology..... that makes me v upset & disappointed...... also, it's not right that i have to accept more work to clean up the negative balance you left me, and spend more of my time chasing after you for the money u still owe me + everyone else.

spacebase

I agree with everyone else who is frusturated still, just because you apologized it isn't a "get out of jail" free card. You have to put forth the effort to straighten things out, and I really hope you do in the next coming days...I'm sure you're overwhelmed right now and it's understandable if you're not answering, but please understand that so many people are waiting on a response from you as of right now.

However, everyone has a right to be annoyed, upset, and angry still because...like Chu said, this isn't pretend currency, it's others food money, bill money, and so much more! So many people are stuck in the negatives right now and have to scramble to pull in emergency commissions. I also....don't understand how you could charge back completed commissions, mother or not, from two months ago??

Also I hope you don't sell the adopts you charged back because most of them have already been resold by the adopt sellers and the rights were revoked from you! People are asking for you to take those down and I'd honestly do so in a timely manner! :,/

i HAVE BEEN AFFECTED TOO :(
