Mornings

It was rather entertaining when he thought back to it at times. More often then not, living in a small enclosure, being tested on and researched, wasn't something one would think of as healthy situation to grow up in. Being anyone, or anything, other than himself, he'd even have to agree. He couldn't blame for darker thoughts, but truly was in his right mind, happy in such a situation.

-

Darkness was always the first thing to greet him, his own doing as he buried himself under the sand every night. Kept in a water tank, the deep blue feral was still unstable. His body was no longer semi-transparent after half a year, but getting surprised by loud noises or strangers continued to cause glitch lapses. The water wasn't only the smalls favorite environment because he could swim in it however, it also blocked noise, and didn't bother his painfully sensitive feathered ears. The plates down his back and covering his tail weren't finished hardening either, threatening to crack if dry for too long. A number of things wrong with him, he was being studied as a cross between demon and data.

Various experiments before him, leaning too far towards data resulted in forms that simply couldn't exist in reality and function on an independent basis, while too demonic wasn't capable of transferring between worlds or manipulating codes once inside. Settled on creating a feral blood from a warpa parent, he was the success resulting as a test tube baby. His single father, Ladislav Dragić.

"Ranvier? It's time to get up." A darker skinned warpa with light colored hair, he instantly recognized the wobbly reflection above the water as a single warm colored eye wiggled its way to open above the sand. Flapping until a small cloud formed and settled, he waited to be noticed and for his papa to skim their hand overhead.

It was a normal morning ritual that let both know they knew the other was there, Ladi doing their best to keep their baby stable and happy. Making his way up, the little feral, reached up to nibble the wiggly finger, both to make sure it was his papa, and find a grip to start pulling himself up out of the water. It was no easy task without proper limbs, but he was a strong little flapper that wanted to learn how to get out all on their own. As soon as they were big enough to no longer needed a helping finger up, yesss, that's when they would surprise papa by waking them up first!

Lifted gently out of the water, Ranvier waited until he was patted down with a soft cloth till he stopped dripping, then lightly sprayed once more to keep damp. Weighed, measured, and smooched for good behavior, he curled up into an excited little burrito so that they could head off for the dining room together. Though a highly unusual living situation, they were, together, a very happy and loving family. One he wouldn't have any other way.
