Good Manners

Working another tireless day away, Ladi took another sip from the cup of coffee at his desk. He was recording Ranvier's most recent development in biology, noting how they required an additional mutation to balance out their code. However, he also made note of the strange event where his arms had halted in their deterioration. They hadn't shown any sign of magical prowess before so he currently only had a handful of speculations on what might have caused the sudden repairs. The continuous feels of someone's gaze was what finally drew him from his rapid typing and theory crafting. Laying on their side in human form, was Ranvier, staring over the back of the computer frame at him from on top of the couch. For a long moment, he simply stared back at them, an eyebrow raised as he wondered if they'd say something unprompted. Which didn't seem to be the case as a few long minutes passed.

"Ranvier, what're you staring at?"

Jumping slightly, the little feral child blushed cutely at being caught even as he smiled toothily at his father, "You!" Blinking, Ladi chuckled at the quick honesty of his small. "Yes, I can see that, but why? Is there something you wish to tell me?" Shaking his head, Ranvier rolled off the couch to the cushions to run himself over and around the desk to Ladi's side. Playing his hands on their leg, he leaned up excitedly as if he was about to tell them the most important thing in the world, which, to them, it very may well be. "'Cause you have super super pretty eyes! Can I have eyes like yours papa?"

Reaching down to pick his growing baby up, he set them in his lap to pat as well as casually check on the new limbs. More than a couple times, he had already gently rubbed and held the long rat toes. Already becoming use to this, Ranvier wiggled them like his father liked, splaying them out then grasping the larger hand when they held it up. "Why thank you. If you really want, I'm sure we could figure something out, but-" leaning down to press their forehead against his, he looked up to the duel colored eyes, "I like yours just the way they are. They're just as pretty, and even glow, mine can't do that." Nuzzling up now that Ladi was so close, Ranvier hummed in thought. He supposed if papa liked them, he liked his eyes too. "Uuuhm, I think I changed my mind! I like them too. So you can stare at them all you like, okay?" Smiling at the little one in his lap, Ladi pecked his son's forehead before going back to typing at his computer with them still there. "I'll try to keep that in mind, but remember, it's not polite to stare. You might make someone uncomfortable or worried." Pouting at the gentle scolding, the feral turned and got comfortable in his new spot. "Kaaay, I'm sorry papa."
