Spritely

The estate’s garden is coming along quite nicely, ever since that interesting stranger visited. Sprite hops through the leafy vegetation, taking in the fresh air and admiring each new growth. They’ve seen Paloma’s attempts to grow gardens before - always serviceable, but never heartfelt. Just something for food every few years when she remembers.

Not so for this garden. This one is exploding with greenery and lush vegetation that refuses to be weighted down by any late mountain cold. Fresh snow peas grow along side hearty little tomatoes, nasil and sage and thyme, and! If Sprite does a little bit of digging with their tiny feet, they find a veritable smorgasbord of delicious, sweet baby comet bulbs. The tiny pearls are swirled with browns and creams and blues, with delicate green stems that will eventually get too stout for Sprite to easily pull up.

They do dig them up, though.

An aircorn has to eat, after all. Paloma leaves food for them when she remembers, usually something of whatever she’s eating, but a young comet bulb is too tasty a treat to ignore. Sprite rustles up a bundle of them, blows the dirt off with a bit of wind magic, and gets to chowing down right there in the garden. The young bulbs are crisp and sweet with a touch of unripe bitterness that really brings the snack together. They even eat the stems, so there’s no evidence of their misdeeds…

Well, aside from a few new holes in the garden, but surely Paloma won’t notice that. Sprite scurries off before they can be blamed for the incident anyway, not wanting to be caught red-feathered.
