Gone Fishing: Blossom, Khad, Oog, Winnie

The fun thrill of the Starwells docks drew three of the crewmates who ventured out to have some fun. They all sported their Spellcaster rods, and each of them brought a companion to help with some unique fishing. After the first round of wild fun, everyone had enjoyed the company of Medi, Khadgar, and Winnie, each with their own interesting ways of having fun. This time, Blossom, Oogieboogs, Khadgar, and Winnie joined in again, just to be of help. The young brow boy wanted to witness their second round of wild fishing fun.

Blossom was up first to take her place on the dock and sit down by the water's edge. Instead of using her Spell Caster rod first, she was curious whether the fish would be attracted to the light. She managed to find a couple of old mirrors in the ship that were free to be taken and used. Crafting them in Medi's shop, with his permission, of course, she created something like a laser light. Flashing it down onto the shining water's edge, it made little flakes of light that would attract even the farthest kettlekat or kitbull, enticing them to chase after the fun. As she expected, the fish took an interest in the shimmering light.

"I think this might work..." Blossom hoped, unlike the first round of unique fishers, she would have better luck than all of them at catching something. Last time, the others managed to get a few good scores using the Spellcasters Rod.

When the fish jumped up to try and eat the light, she would move it away to bring them closer to her. Each little jump or swimming turn brought the fish within her range, much to her advantage. This impressed the others quite a bit, and they couldn't help but express their 'oooohhhs' and 'ahhhhs' at the attraction.

Just as one fish she had been luring jumped high out of the water, Blossom, now braver about the idea of touching a fish, caught it mid-air and quickly tossed it into their fishing bucket. There, it would wiggle around wildly before calming down. The first unique fishing method was a success.

Oogieboogs wanted to experience the splendor of catching something big this time. Last time, the goopy kitbull felt ashamed because he was only catching the smallest and most embarrassing of fish. After relaying his disappointment to Blossom, the goopy kitbull almost gave up on fishing entirely with his friends. But Blossom reassured him that even the smallest fish was a blessing that aided them all in getting a few good items around the Starwell. She also noted that next time, she would help make his dream of catching a fatty fish a reality. Once Blossom settled back down into her seat on the dock, Oogieboogs gave her a meaningful look, and she smiled in response.

The girl flashed her light down upon the water, trying to lure the biggest fish to tempt them closer to Oogieboogs. He got his gear ready, opting to take a chance with an enchanted net he bought down by the docks. This large fishing net was no trash like before; it had been completely broken when they had tried to use it. This one held magic that would suck in a jumping fish nearby, guaranteeing a catch just like the Spellcaster Rod! However, the true will of the fisher was needed to make the enchantment come to life—that was the catch. Oogieboogs had all the will he could muster, dreaming heavily for a fat fish to come by.

After many moments of sitting next to Blossom as she lured in all types of fish, he finally saw the one he wanted: a big fat yellow, orange, and blue fish with big puffy cheeks. This would be the one for him. Tapping Blossom to let her know it was time, she helped navigate the fish closer. Just as it jumped out of the water, instead of reaching out to catch it with his paws, he extended his net. It was a long shot, but the net worked its magic—suddenly spinning in a little whirlwind of magic to suck the fish into his net! Thrilled, the kitbull, then with the help of Winnie, pulled the fatty fish of glory towards them and tossed it into their fishing buckets. Content that the magic net and mirror light worked, the pair took turns helping each other catch fish with them before returning to just using their Spellcaster Rods to finish off the day.

Their fun did not go without observing the fun Winnie and Khadgar were having. Just before, the wilder kitbull had jumped upon a large fish, attempting to ride it to submission as his catch, and it seemed he was at it again. However, his technique was now more refined, as he found the perfect size of fish to dive after and grab with his bare paws. The wilder timelord didn't go without help from Winnie, who would lift him up into the air and give him a good toss in the water for the perfect pounce. Time and again, Khadgar would be lifted up and thrown into the water, his little arms extended as he turned into the shadow of death for the fish below. He would dive right down upon them and punch them with his little fists to knock them out.

Vibrating with excitement, he had to take breaks, of course. Catching fish barehanded required a lot of energy, and it was evident that Winnie was getting a bit tired as well. Nevertheless, their expended energy didn't stop them from looking back at their partly full fishing bucket. Impressed with the fun of diving and the number of fish he caught, Khadgar's mind shifted to finishing up his fishing trip by catching some big fish to really fill the bucket up.

Shaking off his fur and pulling out his Spellcaster Rod, the little kitbull settled beside Blossom, Oogieboogs, and Winnie to cast his line and relax. Content with their success this time, it had only gotten better for them. Within moments, a strong tug on Khadgar's line told him that he had hooked a big, beefy fish for sure. This little display of power with his mighty rod would be the perfect way to end the fishing day, catching a mighty fish like the rest of his friends. Oh, how life was good at the Starwell!
