Hot Brow Summer: Blossom v2

Magna, the Kettlekat companion, did a double take before running around the large outset blanket, ensuring that each edge was perfectly placed, with a small weighted rock at the end to keep the cloth in place. Long strands of tall grass were carefully pressed down, giving the area some space and creating a fine private circle in the middle of a quiet meadow. Nestled in the far corner near a babbling little stream, they had set up their little day trip.

There was nothing that Blossom loved more than the quiet of her own solitude, accompanied by an equal familiar for her much-needed rest. Her usual companion would have been Moroes, her spectral, but recently, she found the company of Winnies, the Kettlekat, Magna, to be the calmest. The kindred wintry familiar often took solitude with Blossom, frequently curling up next to her while she read a good book. This had been their customary tradition while the summer thrill of the Starwell went on upon the beach. Now, it would be no different as they took time to set up their own cute little summer picnic.

Blossom knelt by the edge of the babbling brook, wrapped up in Winnie's borrowed Butterfly Wing Cloak. She found the cloak to be light, airy, and extremely fashionable due to its beautiful colors and its ability to allow her to glide around as she skipped. Eventually, she would have to save up to buy her own Butterfly Wing Cloak or wait patiently, as she was sure Winnie was considering designing one just for her to enjoy.

Returning from the brook to the blanket with some water, Magna had already lit the tiny candle that rested underneath a small teapot. The teapot was designed perfectly for traveling and made the best pot of tea for both of them. Pouring the water into the warming pot, she gave Magna a pat on one of her fine ears as a thank you for her help. After that, the pair went about opening the lunch box they had brought, filled with many tasty treats: little hand sandwiches, tasty crackers and crisps, even a few desserts and fruits for them to share. Just as they finished setting up the aesthetically pleasing picnic, the pair settled down into it. Magna tended to the teapot, purring as it began to make its low whistle, signifying that it was ready, while Blossom curled up next to the Kettlekat with a good book in hand, reading aloud for both of them to enjoy. Sometimes, a hot, bright summer was simply about taking it slow and savoring the good weather.
