LAND / Day 4A

The usual chatter was murmuring through the tavern; nothing seemed to be happening for the most part, despite the occasional disturbance from some small magical beast. It all came to a halting stop when a voice seemed to echo, and the lions left stunned in their seats or searching the area for the source.

Asenath, however, had continued speaking, his words fading in his throat as he noticed the change in the atmosphere. He narrowed his eyes and tilted his head.

“Lantos?”

The caporegime spared him a curt glance before scanning the tavern once more suspiciously. “Didn’t you hear it too?”

Asenath narrowed his eyes further. “Heard what?”

Lantos pursed his lips, his gaze quickly averting to Kreig, Raon, and then to Cael. The others seemed to be understanding. Then finally he looked to the newest addition to their family – Alterion. The lion seemed to be on edge as well, a firm grip on the polearm he travelled with.

All eyes seemed to be on him now, and Alterion rubbed his neck with a free hand. “I think it may have come from the sky. They’re calling for us.”

The lions raised their brows. “And how will we get there?” was Skye’s question.

“Follow me.”

As the lions made to stand, Asenath scrambled to do so as well, but a stern look and grip on his bicep halted him.

“Stay here,” Lantos murmured. “Hold the place down for us.”

Asenath sighed, dropping himself back into his seat. “Fine. Have fun, I guess.”
