Velvenuuns, in short Velvs, are a native species of planet called Velvoria, a globe with similar to Earth biomes though way harsher winters and summers. Velvoriais a planet in the solar system known as VOK-5, in which there are not one, not two, but three suns. The planet orbits the star VOK-A and is accompanied by a smaller star VOK-B and the star VOK-C with the last of the three orbiting the star VOK-A and the star VOK-B every 500 years. In addition to that, the planet is accompanied by twelve other planets, some of which orbit the star VOK-A perpendicularly, keeping Velvenuolis in its orbit as well! Two of them seem to have conditions that could favour life, with one of them showing signs of a long gone civilization. The planet has in total four moons: Rhaza (the closest), Aphello (the biggest), Barnava and Vonvo, all of which can be observed on the night sky of Velvoria!

Velvs are highly intelligent and have the ability to communicate effectively, exhibit consciousness, and develop as a species. They have a natural curiosity about the world and a keen interest in learning about their surroundings. This interest is reflected in their education system, which places a high value on teaching young Velvs about the planet's flora, fauna, and other creatures. They encourage teamwork and collaboration in their young, emphasizing the importance of understanding their environment and the species they share it with. Velvs are semi-aquatic and semi-terrestrial, meaning they are equally comfortable on land and in water. They spend a significant amount of time in either, depending on their preferences. Their love for nature and their surroundings has led them to develop a unique appreciation for the environment around them, and they have a deep understanding of their planet's geography, climate, and ecology.

One of the most remarkable aspects of Velvs is their desire to learn about other cultures and traditions. They are natural explorers, with many Velvs being naturally adventurous, and are always eager to take risks and travel to other parts of the planet. They are keen on understanding the various regional dialects spoken by their kind, which helps them better comprehend their fellow Velvs from different parts of the world. Their willingness to learn about other cultures makes them excellent ambassadors and diplomats, and in case of non-Velvoria Vels they are often the first to initiate interplanetary diplomacy. There are so far 7 known subtypes:

Oceanic;

Forest;

Mountain;

Tropic;

Polar;

Field;

Desert.

Rules and species terms

I. Acquiring a MYO. You can acquire a MYO through many methods, including free and paid ways; we often organize giveaways of between 1 to 4 designs, have free MYO events and, for the ones who join our discord server, free MYO on lvl 20th (which you get by simply interacting and chatting). We also have paid ways; you can claim MYO wherever, there is no time periods when MYO claim is closed. We currently have four rarities of MYOs:

╰┈➤Bronze MYO; gets 18 shards at the start and costs 15USD;

╰┈➤Silver MYO gets 25 shards at the start and costs 20USD;

Gold MYO gets 35 shards at start, (x1) free Extra rare trait and costs 25USD;

╰┈➤Blessed MYO gets 58 shards at start, (x1) free Dragon Lantern trait and costs 40USD.

MYO ticket's rarity does not affect Velv's subtype, however those do cost shards as well. And so, Forest and Oceans being Common subtype cost (0), Mountain as Uncommon costs (2), Tropic, Polar and Field as Rare cost (4), and Desert as Epic cost (6).

Shards can be only acquired through getting a MYO ticket; they are the starting value which is then used to build the basis of the character. All trait types (common, uncommon, rare, extra rare) have their "costs" in shards. In other words, building a character is treated like "shopping" where the number next to the MYO type is the given budget, and traits are shopping items (with common being the cheapest and extra rare being the most expensive). Some traits (Standard — can be replaced with any other trait of the same body part and Required — must be put on a Velv and cannot be replaced) cost 0 shards and are considered "free items".

II. Payment rules. The Velv species accepts payments through paypal only. In case of official design sales, do not make any attempts at payments until we have confirmed your order. When paying for an adopt with a set price, payment must be done within 48 hours otherwise the design will be up for sale again. In case of MYOs, payment must be done within 2 weeks and only after receiving payment will you receive access to the Velv creation section, crucial for designing a Velvenuun. We reserve the right to change the ticket prices with the passage of time and/or slots.

╰┈➤To buy a MYO slot or adopt, please go to the specific channels; claim-myo and o-sales-claiming. (discord), or contact the owner through DMs (ToyHouse).

╰┈➤Por those on ddiscord read the pinned message in claim-myo and follow the rules of claiming.

╰┈➤Please blur owner's PayPal name when sending your proof in claim-myo.

╰┈➤In case of GA sales, the prices and method of payment is conducted by GAs themselves.

III. User behaviors. ╰┈➤Pedophilia, zoophilia/bestiality, racism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, antisemitism, ableism and any other form of bigotry are not welcomed in here. Velv server is a safe space for all kinds of people with the exception of aforementioned cases. Those will not be tolerated either outside or inside the server. Pedophilia and zoophilia result in immediate ban and blacklisting, while hateful remarks follow our three warnings policy (depending on the severity the staff team allows themselves to ban after one warn). Continuing being hateful will result in getting blacklisted.

╰┈➤Complaining, whining or guilt-tripping our official and guest artists about the art or/and adoptable prices. Velv adoptables are a luxury item and not a necessity; making someone feel bad because of their prices can make them feel bad about their art and its worth. Please do not complain about the MYO prices also, or prices of items in the merchant shop. Guilt-tripping someone into giving you currency, shop items or art is also prohibited.

╰┈➤Scamming another user by attempting to trade or sell character that does not belong you (whether it's velv for other species, other species for velv, velv for velv, velv for money and so on). About any attempts at scamming please immediately inform the moderation (especially owner) with proof. "He said she said" sadly will not be enough as we need concrete evidence of one's guilt. Everything should take place in the DMs.

╰┈➤Reselling your Ticket or Velv for more than it's worth. To appraise your character, please contact the staff team before putting the character to velv-resells-trades. Changes in price can be applied only before putting the character for offers. Tickets won in events can be traded or gifted, but cannot be sold, while characters won through giveaways or DTA gain on their value through commissions and art and can be sold after appraising.

╰┈➤Gossiping about other users, staff members as well as people out of the community to stir drama. Whether it happens publicly or privately, we discourage such behavior for obvious reasons — bringing a bad atmosphere. While it's understandable that not everyone will like you or be liked by you, please make sure to not cause any drama and do not attempt to drag in more users. Talking about it in your DMs with the person of interest is something we encourage you to do, while keeping it civil. We also do not support gossiping about other species dramas.

00.00 Redesign. Every user has one free redesign to use (one for each character), that does not cost anything. After redeeming said redesign, the user will be obligated to acquire a redesign potion in merchant-shop with the use of Pearls (species currency).

╰┈➤◌ೄ◌ྀ THINGS THAT DO NOT COUNT AS ONE;

╰┈➤◌Changing the age of a character, from kit to adult and from adult to kit (REMEMBER! When aging down, any nsfw related art MUST be deleted. Not doing so will result in ban).

╰┈➤Changing the character gender and/or sex identity as well as body type to present as more feminine, masculine or gender neutral; both on official adopts and MYOS.

╰┈➤Simplifying patterns or vice versa, detailing them, no drastic changes however (adding additional color to the patterns if it makes sense or removing one color should be checked in designs-feedback or special TH forum dedicated to MYOs);

╰┈➤Adding scars or piercing onto the design — scars can happen on any body part, however scars on pores will affect the way they work, making Velv's hormone balance a bit hectic), same with piercing (nipples, due to their sensitivity, being rather rare);

╰┈➤◌ೄ◌ྀ THINGS THAT CANNOT BE DONE WITH REDESIGN;

╰┈➤Complete color shift (adding more than one extra color, however changing hues (lighter, darker, similar colors) is okay.

╰┈➤Cubtype change (for instance, from Mountain to Polar, Forest to Tropic, Ocean to Forest);

╰┈➤Making the design look not recognizable overall — if you can look at the character and still see the characteristic parts of the old design, then you succeeded.

╰┈➤🍥◌ೄ◌ྀ THINGS YOU CAN DO WITH REDESIGN;

╰┈➤Add traits: change horn shape, ear shape, eyes, add additional regional pattern or non regional pattern. ❗

Keep in mind that: Traits such as albinism, melanism, piebald and chimerism cannot be added with redesign, so put them on an original design before approval (MYO cases). On the other hand, Vitiligo, being a skin condition that develops throughout time can be added, same with Freckles, Toxic coat, Shimmer, Gradient, Fade, Toast, Sprinkled, Cow, and any regional markings which can appear during a Velv's lifetime — those creatures can change their patterns over time, though of course not drastically.

In addition, you can change Piebald to Vitiligo, but not the other way around. You cannot change albino Velv into melanistic however!

╰┈➤❓Why are some traits locked while others aren't?

It is because we want the Velv to stay coherent instead of changing constantly, that's why we recommend picking those traits up before approval. Those traits that are locked are conditions one is born with, and for this reason adding them with time would not make sense in contrast to skin conditions and traits affecting the body that can appear during the Velv's life. Take Moss growth for example, which is a trait that one may be born with or develop during their lifetime.

╰┈➤♻️Swap one trait for another: If you decide on giving up on one of the traits you do not enjoy, you can remove the trait and replace it with another. HOWEVER! The trait must be of the same cost as the trait you removed.

For example:

If you want to add a "Draconic" trait which is an extra rare trait but you also want to get rid of "Dark sclera" which is also classified as extra rare Trait, you do not need a new trait potion.

When removing an old trait but adding a new trait of different rarity you will need a new trait potion which corresponds to the rarity of the trait you intend on applying onto your Velv.

And so, for example:

If you want to remove "Crescent corn" which is extra rare horn trait and you want to change it to "Fork corn" that is classified as an uncommon horn trait, you will need a new Uncommon trait potion, and you lose the shards (unless spend on other trait of the same rarity).

When changing any of the traits to traits marked as standard, you do not need a trait potion.

Lore bits!

Friendship and rivalry

Velvenuuns are creatures with extremely strong, intimate social ties; every relationship they contain has some kind of significance. Because they are an extremely community-driven species, the majority of them do not like to live on their own, separately from other Velvs. And so for this reason finding a lone wolf among them is a tedious, difficult task. They usually live in small towns that consist of their closest relatives, friends, and many other potential relationships, and the bonds they share can range from familial or friend bonds to romantic or sexual. They make friends easily and eagerly, even with their neighbors or those they have met recently, and relationships between Velvs of different regional backgrounds are not rare.

The majority of Velvs enjoy collecting a specific object of interest (which may vary depending on the Velv's preference), often giving a portion of their collection to someone they want to get to know better in a platonic or even romantic way. If the other gives a portion of theirs, it is a good sign and means mutual interest in each other! However, Velvs do not consider showing affection to be limited only to their partners and are often very affectionate with one another. In fact, they regard affection as a means of strengthening their bonds with their families or friends! Even without it being an inherently romantic relationship, friends can cuddle and nuzzle with each other, with this being a normal, socially accepted thing. The most common acts of affection is bumping their horns together, holding tails or simply embracing the other and can convey sympathy and trust.

Rivalry, on the other hand, is not the kind of rivalry that comes to mind first: while in human culture it has pejorative connotations, Velvs regard rivalry as a special kind of friendship — a strong bond between them in terms of "competing." In fact, this type of bond motivates Velvs and promotes their growth in a variety of fields! It means "competition," but it has no negative implications. Being a rival for another Velv means they have formed a unique relationship, and it does not preclude the possibility of them being as close as friends (in fact, most "rivals" are friends or siblings!), pushing each other to achieve more. The rivalry can happen between only two Velvs with the possibility of them being either relatives (siblings, cousins), friends (per usual childhood) or potential partners!

Lifespan and diet

Velvenuuns are creatures that age slowly, and can easily live for hundreds or even thousands of years. A healthy Velvenuun has a life expectancy of around eight hundred years; plus or minus, though it is rather unusual to spot a very old Velv due to them being awful adventure seekers; they have a natural strong instinct of wandering, and thus they often venture to other biomes or towns in search of adventures or thrills. Velvs reach their mental maturity around the age of 22 - 25, and it is during this time that elders no longer see such a Velv as a youngling, teenager, but as a young adult with responsibilities within their society. Moreover, their lifespan may vary a bit depending on the biome they live in, with Void Velvs being able to survive not even thousands but billions of years!

Velvs live on a planet with many oceans, seas, and lakes, which they deem as an excellent supply of fresh food; various sorts of fish, coral reefs, and pearls are staple items in Velvs diets, but they aren't the only ones! Velvs are an omnivore species that prefers various sorts of meat but supplements their diet by consuming all of the fruits and vegetables they can find, gather or harvest by themselves. Velvenuuns are perfectly capable of ingesting bones, raw meats or uncooked food! However, they do have rather delicate stomachs that are not well suited to highly processed foods (such as coffee; instead, they drink teas and drinks made of local seeds that are suitable for their bodies).

Clothing

Velvs have a rather specific sense of fashion; although they have no need to cover their bodies thanks to the scales and short fur keeping them warm, they are very eager to dress up out of pure pleasure and their own will. First of all, no clothes according to them have gender — so there is no distinction between what Velv identifying as male, female or gender neutral can wear. A very typical garment is definitely airy and light fabrics, those that do not restrict movement, allow the skin to breathe or those that do not cause discomfort in any way (too tight, heavy material), which is why they are not willing to wear, for example, denim material, opting for rather either loose and thin or material cloths. Velvs who like to dress up are divided in two groups: one, that likes anything that looks rich and may be of high status or two, that likes something that has a "soul" of its own. Most of their clothes are made to measure, which makes the tailoring profession a very lucrative market with high profits. Each color has its group of fans, although translucent materials, both matte and shimmery, are quite popular. Although Velvs do not wear shoes as they do not need them, they sometimes decorate their feet, hands and tail with light fabrics to complete the "look". Dresses, capelets and capes as well as any other silk materials are quite a common sight, with more layered clothes being often seen among Polar and Mountain subtypes.

Forest

Required traits of Forest are Flora elements and Webbed paws; Why? Flora is very important for this subtype, and has an almost spiritual meaning to them; for this reason, they use what nature gives to pretty themselves up as a symbol of unity with it! Webbed paws, on the other hand, serve as a big help for Forest Velvs when they, for instance, swim in local swamps or move around the forest areas.

In the very heart of the forests, there lies a well-known settlement commonly called Boogzi. Located among the twisting vines and murky waters, Boogzi is a place of enchantment and mystery, tucked away deep within the sprawling wetlands. Boogzi's air is heavy with moisture whilst the earth is soft and spongy beneath the paws and hooves of local fauna. The numerous buildings of the Swamp's capital are all made of wood and raised up on stilts to avoid flooding during the region's periodic downpours, with the hanging wood pathways being narrow and meandering, connecting the various homes and shops. Colorful lanterns hang from the eaves of the buildings, casting a warm glow over the town at night, helping Velv folk to find their way back home when a thick fog rolls in off the marshlands. Many households also have chimes attached to their doors, alarming about the guest's coming.

The Boogzi town is a larger settlement that is bordered on all sides by wetlands that the local Velvs utilize as "hot springs" where they can spend entire days soaking and lazing around. The town square, where inhabitants congregate to trade goods and catch up on the newest rumors from all around the world, is located in the center of the bustling and lively community, being also home for the town's one and only inn. Mushroom Hat, because that's how it is called, offers delicious meals and strong drinks to locals and visitors alike. Be wary however, as some of the alcohols are made from ingredients classified as dangerous! The local Velvs developed a high resilience to toxins as a result of living in a poisonous environment and used it to their advantage. For those who are not from the forest, several of those drinks might be harmful, however not deadly (mild toxins that can cause nausea)

Boogzi is not a tourist-friendly town: although it is definitely vibrant, with the town square always being filled with laughter, music and the community being generally welcoming, it is not the safest of them all. For those who never lived in the forest areas, the moist air can be difficult to breathe with, while terrain itself poses a huge challenge. Locals learned how to cope with it, with their pores being used for the heavy atmosphere other Velvs may have troubles with at first, while their webbed paws — similar to frogs — help them with maneuvering in the dense swamps. Moreover, Boogzi is a home for various kinds of poisonous and toxic animals and mushrooms, that in some cases can turn out to be lethal but for many Swamp Velvs are commonly a subject of interest, as they are in fact fond of even the darkest parts of nature. Most of the Swamp settlements do not have names, however the reason why is not clear; it may be a preference of living there Velvs or their natural laziness.

Untitled301_20230518153036.png

Ocean

Required traits of Oceans are Feelers and Fish tail; Feelers are located on Ocean Velvs heads, right above eyebrows and serve as a help to detect fish and potential threats when underwater. Fish tail also helps with the majorly underwater life, being the strongest limb of those Velvs and helping them with mannouvering in the depths of the waters due to the (mandatory) fin tip.

The main source of income for Oceanic Velvs is the acquisition and trade of seafood. However, what brought them the most fame was their ability to craft stunning jewelry from uniquely looking colorful stones or seashells that they found in the deepest waters near their homes or on the seashores, which they then gathered. The manufacture of Pearls, one of the more widely used currencies in the majority of Velv-inhabited regions, is likewise entirely the responsibility of those crafty Velvs. The transportation of commodities or any physical goods are often done by rafts or boats due to the fact that Imall is cut off from the rest of the world by the borders of the large desert they neighbor with, and which requires incredible effort from those who try to travel through it on their own. They are also renowned for their creativity, using carefully shaped shells as everyday tools or coral as part of their clothings.

Imall, their capital, is believed to be one of the very first settlements made by Velvs, which also survived to this day. It is located on the peninsula, surrounded on all sides: the vast ocean on one and canyon leading to the desert on the other. Although Imall is a very popular tourist destination, despite first impressions, it is not a big town. Instead, it is situated next to two slightly smaller villages on the edges of the peninsula and is more akin to a large village than a megalopolis. The atmosphere in Imall is generally idyllic, with a tightly knotted community. The settlement is designed around a sizable central plaza that is encircled by little, vibrant homes and is shaded by, common in this region, palm trees. The homes are made of a combination of thatch, stone, and wood, and each one has doors and shutters that are beautifully painted, often adorned with the finds of those Velvs, such as stones or pearls.

The town's stunning beach is its main draw, offering tourists the chance to unwind in the sunshine, swim in the warm ocean water, or engage in a range of beach sports including races and festive sandcastle building. The town also has many top-notch eateries, seafood stalles and stores, selling anything from farm-fresh fish and handcrafted goods to pearl-made knick knacks and charming mementos. During a year, in months free from tourism — main income for the coastline town — Imall is primarily dependent on fishing for its livelihood, with majority of Velvs living there being typically fisherman, who spend their days out on the ocean, hauling in their catch and bringing it back to the village to either sell or consume it. Due to the general love of Oceanic Velvs for seafood, most of the traditional dishes from this region are based largely on the meat of the local fish, but not only: many of them also contain crunchy seaweed and edible fragments of corals one can find on the bottom of the ocean.

Untitled302_20230518153331.png

Mountain

Required traits of Mountain are Spiked arms and Rough leg scales. Both of those adaptations developed in this subtype mainly to protect them from harsh and difficult environment, with more evident scaling in their legs area than in most other subtypes. The protruding spikes on their shoulders were supposed to protect them from predators when Velvs were still an easy target for extinct Ghomas.

High in the peaks of the majestic mountain range, nestled among the rocky cliffs and masterly hidden from the rest of the world, lies the capital of the Mountain Velvs. This unique town is built entirely within the caves and sinuous tunnels of the highest mountain on Velvenuolis known to all Velvs as Taatun, with each house and store carved directly into its stone walls. The town is accessible only by a narrow, winding path that snakes its way up the rocky hill, making it rather a secluded place, rarely visited by accidental visitors. In fact, anyone who does not know the secret mountain passageways may have a hard time finding any clues where to direct their feet, and while Taatun itself is not hard to spot on the map, entering the very inside of the town may be quite a challenge for those of little knowledge; the terrain too may be harsh for those who live their comfortable lives on the lowlands.

Taatun inhabitants often find their shelter in more or less natural caverns, meticulously decorating them with whatever they find among the rocks; sometimes it is animal skull or bone, other times — things that other Velvs left behind them without a second thought. Their houses are masterly crafted, with each one of them blending into the rock face rather than standing on their own while their walls are sturdy and able to withstand the harsh mountain winds or occasional snowfall during the winter months. Their rooftops have a distinct, sloped shape to allow for the snow ro easily slide off, meanwhile the windows are carved expertly to allow for the maximum amount of natural light to fall in, illuminating the interiors of households during a daytime. At night, this function is performed by beautifully carved torches hung by the doors of buildings, casting light upon the way of lost night wanderers.

The residents of Taatun are a hardy and resourceful community that is able to support themselves comfortably off the land and the mountain's resources, despite the difficulties of living in such a harsh and isolated location, selling the lion part of what they find within the veins of rock usually then trading it for other goods such as fabrics or medicine. Not only that: Mountain Velvs are believed to be experts in breeding Woufflings, whose thick wool is considered one of the best in terms of quality. Over the years, this species has also found its place among other biomes, although it is true that pure mountainous wool is still sought out by its enjoyers. Taatun is one of the few areas on Velvenuolis that has a real potential of turning into a paradise on earth; the breathtaking scenery observed from the highest point or the area's rare fauna give it a fairytale esque feel, but sadly it is not accessible to tourists due to the challenging rocky and steep terrain, which poses a risk of death in some of its spots.

Untitled303_20230518154023.png

Tropic

Tropic Velvs required traits are Feathered body and Feathered tail. Both their whole body and a tail are covered with patches of mix of something that resembles fur and feathers at the same time, while being neither, though more similar to the latter. They do not, however, have bones in them making Tropic Velvs unable to even form wings, even with the Faux wings traits.

The busy city of Zuuwei, which serves as Tropic Velvs' capital, has a kind, inviting local community and is well-known for its vibrant environment and voluminous cultural heritage. Being located in the tropical biome, Zuuwei is nestled along the banks of the greatest Zabwa — which, to this day, is regarded as the longest and widest among all of the rivers of Velvenuolis. The town is situated atop terraced hills that rise from the river's bank providing breathtaking views of the river and the surrounding tropical setting. With colorful homes and buildings made of local wood and stone, the streets are compact making it actually simple to get lost. The town is renowned for its stunning, vibrant gardens, which are brimming with exotic plants, flowers, and distinctive fauna that coexist peacefully with the Velv residents, both as domesticated and wild, unbothered and trustful of those friendly and welcoming folk.

Zuuwei is also known for its rich cultural heritage, with a variety of ancient temples scattered throughout the town, serving now mostly as historical treasures, oftentimes renovated and used as libraries or schools. Although they are no longer used for their initial purpose, the belief that the river Zebza possesses magical qualities is preserved in the Tropics culture to this day. In addition, the lloba (river) is seen and referred to as the lifeblood of the whole tropic region, providing the town with water for irrigation, power for mills and transportation for trade and commerce with other Velvs. Buildings and households of the town are located on both, parallel to each other sides of the river's bank, making it necessary to go canoeing to get from the eastern part of the city to the western one. This however is not a problem but a daily life of those Velvs: the waters are rather tranquil, and crossing it is not a feat of strength.

Among other Velvs, the town is known for being a thriving fishing industry, with the river providing a bountiful source of fish and other aquatic life. It is almost entirely surrounded by lush rainforests while being home to a variety of exotic wildlife such as winged Maookas — by locals called "Krawoos" — which predominate as the main source of transport between Tropic and other biomes. However, not only is the river teeming with fish, the town is also known for its delicious tropical fruits such as nyobyoko (oftentimes also called starfish apple) or kippa (watermelon pear). Zuuwei is also a center for still developing trade and commerce; the community is renowned for its talented artisans and craftspeople, who create a variety of goods including textiles, ceramics, and jewelry that then is distributed to all corners of the world, mainly in exchange for fabrics and medicines. It is also a hub for the trade of tropical spices, fruits, precious stones and the products of the river such as shells and the likes.

Untitled304_20230518154425.png

Polar

Required traits of Polars are Fluffed body and Fluffed tail. Due to the cold climate they live in, those Velvs need extra layered fur for protection! Their fur can be trimmed and shaved during the summers, when the climate changes to unbearably hot; under the layer of fur, those Velvs have scaled tails and bodies just like any other subtype. They can shave their tail in various shapes and patterns.

Located in the heart of a vast and barren arctic desert, in the very heart of it, one can find a town called Nimia; it is a capital of Arctic biome, a land from which all Polars came from. Although seemingly inhospitable, Velvs who centuries ago decided to settle here developed characteristics that allowed them to endure harsh winters and icy waters of Nimia — long, thick fur and natural fondness of cold — those are only two of the numerous adaptations that allowed these Velvs to create a settlement in such unusual place. The town is mostly renowned for its stunning architecture with the majority of their buildings being made of gleaming white stone, with intricate carvings and embellishments that shine in the bright desert sun, adding it a picturesque feel. Polars' houses are predominantly made in shape akin to igloos, however instead of using snow and ice they are made of sturdy stone blocks.

Nimia in general have little to no vegetation, with most of the plant life there consisting of mosses, lichens, and few flower species that can withstand the harsh environment such as precca — small blue flowers that draw energy from snow. Grass, for instance, grows in very small patches, mostly near the biome borders where the climate is sufficient to support less cold-hardy plant species. To the south of the major town one can find a forest of coniferous trees, where firewood can be easily obtained; said wood is then used mostly to cook their food or to light up the interior of buildings with torches. While the polar region is not rich in resources, the Velvs here use whatever they can get without interference from other subtypes. Of course, this does not mean that Polars do not trade with others; as their offered goods, they use the leather, bones of animals, timber and fish species that are native to this biome.

Even despite such harsh conditions Polar biome is a home for a variety of wildlife which, just like Polar Velvs, developed adaptations to the environment. Maookas, for example, grow denser, impermeable fur that protects them from the cold and also have a greater predisposition to gaining more body weight. Polar Velvs who are living near Nimia due to the prevalence of snowy deserts have a diet very rich in the meat of fish and animals, as well as other animal by-products obtained by them through hunting or breeding, while being very poor in vegetation and fruits. The only fruits and vegetables that Polars consume are those that they trade for from other subtypes, making them more or less dependent on the integration with other Velvs. The Polar biome is unsuited for life during winter, thus during the colder months Polar Velvs leave their home habitat in groups and search for temporary housing in others as the colder days are intolerable even for them.

Untitled306_20230518154734.png

Field

The Fields Velvs' required trait was only one: semi-hooves. This was a result of living in field areas, where they did not need the tyical Velv feet. Those hwever still have dewclaw and beans, and while their feet give impression of cloven hooves, they are in reality normal toes with special atop keratin formation.

Located in a large, wide field, the medium-sized village of Kirti is surrounded by gentle breeze rustling through the tall grasses with vegetation seemingly expanding more quickly and densely than in other areas of Velvenuolis. A sizable, crystal-clear lake serves as the focal point of Kirti's surroundings, shimmering in the sunlight and reflecting the clouds above with masterful accuracy conveying the clouds above. Locals frequently visit the water to swim or fish in its depths since it is typically soothing and cooling, with the lake supposedly having healing qualities. The lake is also home to a wide range of freshwater aquatic animals, including numerous colorful fish, tiny sea rodents, and elegant birds, being at the same time a meeting place for playful, adventurous kits and their watchful parents! Due to its mysterious therapeutic properties it is also widely enjoyed by tourists from other regions.

One can note that the Field's dwellings are distinct from anything they have ever seen, especially when making their way deeper into the town regions. Instead of standing tall above the ground as in the case of most other Velv towns, buildings there are burrowed into the soil, with only their thatched roofs peeking out from the grass. Natural resources such as wood, stone, clay and plant fibers are used to construct said burrows, which are then decorated with vibrant flowers and accompanied by vast, beautiful gardens. The village is popular with tourists due to its kind and hospitable residents, who are always ready to welcome guests with a grin and a hearty lunch. Also, the town boasts a thriving marketplace where inhabitants sell top-notch teas and medications made from naturally occurring plants, causing it to become a monopoly in the fields of medicine and tea making (which is also a favorite drink of Fields).

As many other Velv towns, Kirti and its residents have a strong connection to nature, if not stronger than others. In order to maintain the ecosystem's delicate balance, the locals put up a lot of effort — numerous of them undertake activities such as gardening, gathering and looking after wild animals with care for their well-being. They aim to coexist in peace with what nature has to offer and have a great regard for the plants and creatures that are close to them. When the sun sets, the town comes to life as both young and elderly Velvs gather around the fire pit in the center of the settlement to roast mushroom marshmallows with one another and share tales of their escapades or stories they have heard from someone else. Overall, Kirti is a marvelous location brimming with wonder and beauty. It is a place where Velv folk cherish the basic joys of life and where nature and society coexist in perfect harmony; be sure to stop by if you're ever in the neighborhood; you won't be disappointed!

Desert

Desert Velvs live in the hottest regions of Velvenuolis, which lead to them adapting to the hot climate by developing pangolin-like plating of scales on their tail and body. Those scales are larger than typical Velv scales, protecting them from the two suns above their heads. The plating on tail and body can be smaller or bigger, but always resembles pangolin.

A peculiar town called Gisha, the capital of the Desert Velvs, can be found in the middle of a vast and arid desert where scorching suns relentlessly beat down on the barren terrain, with the settlement's scenery consisting of a great number of triangular structures. Do not be fooled by the harsh exterior however: nestled within this desolate landscape lies a hidden gem, an oasis. On the horizon one can see palm trees swaying gently in the breeze, and a crystal-clear pool of water nourishing lush green vegetation as well as offering a refreshing respite from the sweltering heat, serving as a vital source of water and sustenance for the inhabitants of the town, who have learned to coexist with the unforgiving desert environment, at the same time being a haven for weary travelers. The harsh conditions presented lead to adaptations such as harder, plated scales that help locals to withstand the blistering hotness.

One can see upon approaching the town that the local buildings are not the conventional structures that one could see elsewhere. These pyramid-shaped homes are constructed of a mix of local materials such as stone and adobe with their roofs having a specific flat shape, and offer a cool retreat in spite of the heat outside by keeping the interiors cold. The homes' inventiveness is evident in their design, which combines functionality and aesthetic appeal that is often appreciated by tourists who visit this place only to see them with their own eyes. The stars glisten brightly at night under the clear desert sky, casting a calm and peaceful air over the town; during such evenings one may hear faint sounds of music and laughter floating through the air as locals and visitors gather around the oasis to enjoy the cool breeze and bathe in the tranquil surroundings til the morning when another wave of heat strikes again.

Focused on entertainment Desert Velvs regularly host events around the oasis of Gisha or go to other parts of the planet to perform for interested Velv folk; whether acting in plays or creating art, Deserts love being on stage! When doing so, those Velvs usually dress elaborately, donning attire made of vivid materials and adorning themselves with copious amounts of jewelry, frequently made of precious stones found in the areas of the sandy terrain and its surroundings. Due to their musical and artistic nature, many of them are professionally playing on the instrument of their choice whether it is a horn, flute, lute, drums or other, carrying it around when visiting other sides of the globe. While not entertaining crowds at festivals, Desert Velvs perform in small groups for any spectators who choose to listen or watch, hoping for an influx of extra pearls to fill their wallets. In fact, Deserts main income comes from either entertainment or work that requires a lot of body strength.
