〖Traits List〗

TRAITS

In the Coldour Region, Pokémon can be found with different unique traits. The likelihood of finding a trait will depend on where you find that Pokémon.

"Approval" on a design from a mod is not required to submit a Pokémon's reference, though Pokémon that don't fit the trait(s) will be rejected. Also, keep in mind that extra traits aren't required to give your Pokémon head hair or a hair-style, nor are they needed to change a Pokemon's eye-color.

All traits can stack together, except for default, colored, and shiny, which cannot stack with one another. Only exception is one being on a separate chimera side to the other, in which they can't combine.

In the case of Default stacking with color-altering traits (domesticated, elemental, e.t.c.), "default" simply means that it follows the base colors/markings of that trait. "Colored" allows that trait to stray from the baseline colors. A default+domesticated will have to use the colors pertaining to the animal inspiration, while a colored+domesticated can use ANY shade of colors, but still limits markings to the animal-inspiration theme unless paired with Variant.

VANILLA TRAITS

DEFAULT

Default Pokémon are exactly as they sound: base-colors and base-markings. Some may have very slight palette changes (no more than a single shade lighter / darker), and some may have minor marking differences (freckles, a single marking / birthmark-- no more than a 5% change).

SHINY

Like in canon, these Pokémon are unique for their palette difference & shimmery fur. This trait is not hereditary, as 'shiny' is considered a random spur mutation in the Pokémon's appearance rather than a genetic.

VARIANT

Variant allows a Pokémon to have any kind of markings that can affect up to 90% of the body. Variant's palette isn't limited at all, but the Pokémon's original palette should still be visible/used in some way as to not bypass 'default'. This is not necessary if it has any color-changing trait that isn't default!

CHIMERA

This rare trait allows other traits to be split between two "sides". One side may be shiny while the other is colored/variant, for example. A fused Pokémon will exhibit its fusion properties on both sides-- one side cannot be fusion while the other isn't. The sides can be distributed in any-which-way as long as there's a clear distinction between either side's traits.

(Example: A dog-like Pokémon can look like a shiba inu. A mouse-like Pokémon can look like a rat. A humanoid Pokémon can be lightly themed around a cat, since it lacks otherwise inspiration.)

EVENT TRAITS

FERAL

Feral Pokémon are the victims of Team Ferine's scientific workings. This feral state seems to be induced by Stan's very own blood, meaning his claims to be "the insanity incarnate" are true entirely; 'Insanity Samples' are packages created by Team Ferine that are able to induce a permanent feral effect onto a Pokémon. Thankfully, due to exploring Team Ferine's laboratory, temporary cures for the insanity have been found, meaning these Pokémon can also possess "tamed" forms!
A feral Pokémon will be reminiscent of 'default' if they don't have other traits added on top, though they may be notably darker/desaturated in colors in their tamed forms. In their full feral form, red markings or an overall red palette can be adorned, as well as longer fangs/claws/horns/tusks and wilder fur/hair. In full feral, these Pokémon are violent in nature, but when tamed, they're just like any other Pokémon in Coldour society. Each Pokémon's trigger for influencing their feral nature depends on their personality and circumstances.

WEREMON

At their cores, Weremon are hungry Pokémon with ill intent. While masked, many say they're closed-off and cold, only warming up to others when they clearly have something they want. Not all of them follow this pattern of behavior, though in their origins, a note of selfishness is held. While transformed, they're incredibly snarky and energetic, often resorting to crudeness or even violence to either achieve their goals or simply entertain themselves.
Weremon are not native to Coldour, all originating from a 'Weremon King' from another world. When masked, these Pokémon can sport regular wolf-typical colors with fluffy manes (or, added fur if they don't have it to begin with), along with the naturalistic patterns one would see on a big dog. Hints of blue may also be added. When transformed, which occurs under the light of a full moon, they often have distorted canine-like anatomy with thick claws and obscenely large fangs. Red eyes are extremely common, but not required, along with moon-motif markings.

VAMPIRE

At their cores, Vampires are hungry Pokémon with ill intent. While masked, many say they're manipulative and social, very frequently betraying those they get cozy with after they've served their personal purposes. Not all of them follow this pattern of behavior, though in their origins, a note of selfishness is held. While transformed, they're incredibly charming and sly, often resorting to sweet-talk or even violence to either achieve their goals or simply entertain themselves.
Vampires are not native to Coldour, all originating from a 'Vampire Queen' from another world. When masked, these Pokémon can sport dulled red-hued fur or skin with markings that may resemble vampiric attire, from gloves to capes to ruffles. Sleek, almost feline-like anatomy is held, along with bat-shaped ears where applicable. Hints of red or pink may also be added. When transformed, which occurs at the Pokémon's will, they often have distorted ermine-like anatomy with batty wings and thin, long fangs. Red eyes are extremely common, but not required, along with crucifix-motif markings.
