WORK IN PROGRESS: visual guide to be added soon

CW: body horror (eyes, teeth, and general monstrosities)

Cosmetic (no rarity)

> TOY_faced have long, flexible bodies, wide lower limbs, and are capable of being both quadrupedal and bipedal.

> Their skin is rubbery and can be shiny, matte, and iridescent.

> On average, their shoulder height on all fours is 1m, though they have been known to grow as large as 2m or as small as 30cm at the shoulder.

> Their tails can be any length and shape.

> TOYs are full of energy and electricity that they self-produce, and this can sometimes appear in an aura. This energy aura can be any color and patterning, and a TOY can control whether or not they want it to be visible.

Face object

> A TOY_faced’s face is its most vulnerable point. In order to protect it, they have taken to hiding it behind an object. This object that the TOY hold to their faces is often the first thing that they instinctively grab when leaving their claw machines: commonly, this is a plushie or plastic toy head that is ripped off in the frenzy of emerging from the machine, though less commonly they manage to pull the full body of the toy with them.

> On some rare occasions, a TOY might not be able to find a toy to hide their faces. To surpass this, they will grab any object they deem fit to hide themselves behind.

> In even rarer and often macabre circumstances, with nothing left to grasp, this might be a skeleton or a live creature. With particularly powerful energy, they can even keep disembodied body parts ”alive”.

> Extremely rarely, TOYs can even be forced or choose to not hold a face object.

> Modifications to the object (piercings, graffiti/tattoos, Frankensteining the toy with another toy, etc.) are quite trendy.

> Standard_issue: plushie toy head, plastic toy head

> Uncommon_edition: fullbody plushie/plastic toy

> Rare_find: random object

> Vintage_machine: none, skeleton, live creature

Ear spines

> Whilst evolving and growing inside their machines, the TOYs incorporated parts of the body and inner workings of the arcade cabinet into themselves, notably on the sides of their heads, giving them the appearance of ears or ear spines.

> The shape, size, and direction of the ear spines are cosmetic and have no rarity (downwards facing, sticking straight out, etc.), though they are always attached to the same position on the sides of the head.

> There does not need to be an even number of ear spines, and they are allowed to be mismatched.

> Standard_issue: 1-4

> Uncommon_edition: 5-8

> Rare_find: 9-12

> Vintage_machine: unlimited, none

Claws

> Claws refer to the small hooks primarily located on a TOY’s face, with additional sets appearing more uncommonly on the chest and/or tail, and extremely rarely in other locations.

> The primary function of these claws is to hold a toy or object in place.

> The number of claws in one location on a TOY can be different from TOY to TOY (ex. one TOY may have five claws on their face, another might only have two), and they can move to accommodate for the positioning for the face object.

> Standard_issue: 1 set (face)

> Uncommon_edition: 2 sets (face, and either chest or tail)

> Rare_find: 3 sets (face, chest, and tail)

> Vintage_machine: unlimited sets, no sets

Elements

> Evolving for so many years in their claw machines, some TOYs may emerge with some residue of the elemental impact of the years gone by.

> Standard_issue: rust

> Uncommon_edition: minor plant growth (small plants or less than 40% of the body)

> Rare_find: water damage (water pouring out, etc.)

> Vintage_machine: major plant growth, electrical fires

Machine body

> Similar to the ear spines, some TOYs incorporate more of the body of the claw machine into their own bodies. The shaping, size, and functionality of these incorporations differ.

> Minor modifications to the machine body are allowed, but full-scale modifications don’t take place as these machine parts are physically incorporated and part of their body.

> Standard_issue: armor/decoration

> Rare_find: extra limbs (functional), extra tails (functional)

> Vintage_machine: wings (functional), floating parts

Fur

> While it is more common for most TOYs to have no hair or fur of any kind on their bodies, some may feature fur or hair which has the look and texture of arcade carpets or toy hair. This trait is uncommon.

Transparency

> Some TOYs may feature a form of transparency in their body parts (inapplicable to machine body or ear spines, where transparency has no rarity). This trait is rare.

Extra heads/hydra

> TOYs left to evolve and mutate within their machines for too long may emerge with an abundance of energy, resulting in multiple heads. This trait is vintage
