Master Reset (Or the Original/Rewritten World) is a universe containing some of Dream World's first (and most important) characters, such as Ivy, Burningstone and Clover. The universe itself is based off of Disney's Toontown Online and the fanmade Toontown Rewritten, along with Pokémon and Erin Hunter's Warriors books, but since then I've done my best to make it something more original.
This world is SEMI-OPEN to join requests. Master Reset itself isn't open, but Dark Nation is. Check Dark Nation's folder for more!

The Original World acted like a video game; there was a linear path of progressing through the world, and if you played into this path, you (or, rather, your avatar) would get stronger and stronger until you "completed" the path. The avatars in this world are aware both of their videogame world, and of the "players" on the other side that control them. When they're not being played by the players, the characters do what they please and can communicate with each other.

Life was simple in the Original World: There were avatars who would progress on the path that was intended for them, and other avatars who strayed from the path to forge their own stories for themselves. For everyone, however, it all changed in 2013 when The Shutdown occurred.

The forces running the world could no longer maintain it, and chose to destroy it for their own benefit. With the destruction of the world came the destruction of the avatars of the characters. Their data was eternally locked away, never to be touched again.
The characters, the life force of the avatars, fled the remnants of their world, escaping to a void-like realm of data known as The Digiverse; this realm gave them solace from their world's destruction.

For exactly one year, they wandered The Digiverse, separated from their world (and, in some cases, from those they knew and loved), doing their best to make themselves at home here. On the one-year day, a portal opened to a new and improved Rewritten World--exactly the same as their own, but as a clean slate, destined for bigger and better things. Without hesitation, they all entered the Rewritten World to begin their new lives.

When they entered, they gained new avatars and new data, like a computer upgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 10. This gave them new appearances, and--depending on the success of the rewrite--their memories remained intact. However, they were still separated from each other in the year's timespan, and a lot had changed. They needed to relocate each other, rebuild their communities, and rewrite their own stories.

For some of them, that meant reliving old memories, and doing it all over again.
