Overview:

• All Auratail's are born with the ability to conjure one specific object unique to them. Be it a household teapot, a weapon, or even in rare cases, a lifeform. They materialize in the form of holographic-like crystals. These are called Crystaline Summons.
• Summons are stronger than any material currently known, and harder than an Auratail's body. They cannot break or be cracked, only de-materialize at the users will. In some cases however, if a summon is put under extreme pressure or a large amount of weight, it will de-materialize on it's own.
• Since each Auratail can only summon one unique object, there is a large market for jobs where that particular summon is needed or may be useful. An Auratail who summons knives may be useful as a chef. Another who summons telescopes could play a vital part in astronomical research. The Auratail community thrives because every individual is needed and useful in their own way.

1. Summons may seem near indestructible, but they do have their limitations. For example, every summon takes sustained concentration from the user, and therefore cannot be conjured when the user is asleep or unconscious.
2. Summons are not independent of the host. Meaning for instance, an Auratail cannot summon multiples of their object and sell them. They also cannot go very far away from their summon. As soon as a summon is out of range, it will dematerialize.
3. Auratails can conjure more than one version of their summon at a time, but the more copies of an object there is, the harder it becomes to sustain.
4. Smaller objects can be summoned by second nature and usually without much thought, but the larger a summon is, the harder it becomes to conjure and sustain. Refrigerators are currently the size limit for what an Auratail is able to conjure. Anything larger becomes impossible.
5. The default sizes of each summon depend on its real world counterpart. An Auratail also cannot grow or modify the size of their summons by huge proportions. Therefore you will never see an Auratail summon a thimble the size of a chair, or vice versa.
6. Any object that requires organic matter, liquids, gas, radiation, radio waves or screens to be operated for their intended use are not summonable.
7. The only thing "mechanical" in nature that an Auratail is able to summon are items which normally require batteries or electricity to be useable. In place of batteries or electricity however, an Auratail can use it's own life-force to power the object. This makes things like segways (yes, segways), flashlights, watches, and fans legitimate summons.
8. Typically, all summons match the color of an Auratail's gem type.

• Gem Overgrowth is the only mutation officially classified as a disease. When an Auratail is afflicted, gems that would normally occur only on the head start to spread across the body. When left untreated, the condition is fatal and the Auratail will eventually be consumed by the mutation, becoming a petrified gem statuette. This process happens slowly however, and most Auratail's can choose to have the gems removed every so often. But doing so is often painful. (And sometimes dangerous, if the removal cracks the Auratail's glass)
