GENERAL INFO:

• Megethos is a science fantasy setting, mainly populated by biomechanical species like Syntei and Carnex.

• Megethos setting features influences and aesthetics of Solarpunk, Nanopunk, Biopunk, and Cyberpunk genres. The focus is less on the -punk aspects which portray societal struggles, and more visual aesthetics, with the exclusion of Solarpunk, which is a main focus of Syntei species.

• Naming conventions within this world are based around Latin and Greek word roots.

CREDITS AND INFLUENCE:

• Created, owned and developed by Demitsorou. They do not claim to own any individual trait or idea within Megethos and its species, but rather the concept as a whole.

• Megethos and its species are inspired by a variety of existing media, including but not limited to: Bionicle, Warframe, Mass Effect, Warhammer, Aliens, Magic The Gathering, and more.

DEMIURGES:

• All-powerful creators that caused the Origin of Creation.

• Created Megethos, Aether, and possibly Neroforma.

AETHER:

• Also known as The Weave.

• Void of space, force permeating existence.

• Comes in many forms, commonly seen as the dark matter.

• Inhospitable and volatile.

NEROFORMA:

• Known as Nanomorph, Cryptolymph, Lympha, Synthema, Mercury, Gel, Goo.

• Is composed of biomechanical nanites and has sentience.

• Can be many forms, but commonly is gel-like or viscous liquid, silvery in color.

• Seeped into Megethos at the dawn of time from one of the Strata.

• Traverses the Aether, seemingly without goal or purpose, latching onto random remnants of the Origin of Creation and creating Spheres.

• Has transdimensional capabilities.

STRATA:

• Sub-dimensions, planes, and layers of Megethos, inaccessible by normal means.

• Hypothesized as the origin place of Neroforma.

• Each Strata represents a particular concept.

SPHERES:

• Planet systems, created after the Origin of Creation, or as a result of Neroforma construction.

• Currently known Sphere is Syntes, home to Syntei and Carnex.

ORIGIN:

• Neroforma, in its endless travel, found the remnants of the star birth and created the planet Syntes, with two moons - Viridis and Chrysos.

• After Neroforma finished creating the Sphere, it retreted into the core of the main planet, Syntes, and remained there dormant.

• Points of interdimensional travel were created as a result of Neroforma's meddling, allowing passage between the two moons and main planet.

SYNTES:

• Ocean planet with a hollow core, filled with the dormant Cryptolymph.

• Enormous cavern systems are hidden underneath the crust, with only a few island chains littering the surface ocean.

• Due to high concetration of Cryptolymph, most flora, fauna, and natural resources of Syntes are biomechanical in nature.

• Unique conditions allowed dormant Cryptolymph to crystallize under pressure, forming Syntonite.

• Syntonite is a highly valuable natural resource, capable of unparalleled data storage.

• Origin place of Syntei, a nanomorph species.

VIRIDIS:

• Lush jungle moon of Syntes.

• Biologically diverse, having many biomes, and many varieties of flora and fauna.

• Home of the apex predators known as Carnex.

• Syntei that emerged on Viridis were hunted by Carnex, allowing Carnex to evolve into a bio-tech species.

CHRYSOS:

• Arid desert moon of Syntes.

• Surface is largely inhospitable due to thin atmosphere, radiation, and heat from the sun, as well as heavy winds.

• Resplendant with natural ore, especially Chryseum.

SYNTEI:

• First sapient species to emerge on Syntes.

• Biomechanical nanomorphs, going through a few distinct stages of growth.

• Prefer to live in harmony with their world and avoid conflict.

CARNEX:

• Evolved species of Viridis, pushed to sapience through consumption of Cryptolymph.

• Once biological serpent-worm creatures, evolved into bio-tech people.

• Separated into different broods, some of whom decided to join the Syntei society.

• Other broods live separately from each other as large families.

• Some Carnex remained in their primal state, roaming the jungles as the apex predators.
