The definition of "true neutral," Rin lets on little to nothing through first impressions. That being said, the word most often used to describe the Starweaver is alluring, not for his kindhearted attitude or long list of noble deeds, but for the air of mystery that surrounds him. Rin offers his allegiances to no one but himself... At least, not for long.
While he is perfectly content to go it alone, Rin is known to occasionally align himself with a cause or faction which he deems in his interest, though he will just as quickly assist the opposition should he believe it will prove to be in his favor in the future. Because of this, Rin has made it his business to know a little bit about everyone and everything by keeping his touch on the pulse of the communities around him, knowing their gossip and rumors.
Over the years, Rin has found himself employed by many different individuals. Nobles would employ him to help overthrow a neighboring ruler they weren't fond of, and business men would send him to spy on their competitors. And yet, like the changing weather, Rin would never stay around for long. As soon as one contract was fulfilled, he would move on to the next. It was not uncommon for him to use the information he uncovered about his previous contractor to the advantage of whoever would employ him next - and, in turn, to his own personal benefit.
Rin is pretentious, to say the least. He feels himself to be above the emotions which drive many others, and finds it amusing to play puppetmaster through the work he does and the information he reveals. He has little regard for the effect his actions will have on others, and so the few who have grown close to him might describe him as emotionally distant, or even abrasive.
Of course, in this line of work, there is always the chance that he might get himself into trouble. Yet, while he is sufficiently trained in swordplay, Rin sees little use in bloodying his hands when that could very easily bind him to his actions. Instead, he chooses to use illusions and magic to trick his opponents, giving him a chance to escape or hide until the situation dies down.
