A neurotic Wyvern with Vernal Dragon heritage and the plumage of a perpetually-molting flamingo, Dex lives a life of second guessing and assuming the worst. He holds a rare talent among the mythics of Equnoxx—he’s a conductor, i.e. someone who can channel raw magic into physical vessels and create enchanted objects. This awkward artificer learned the craft from his respected and beloved mother, and lately he’s taken it upon himself to find her after her mysterious abduction a few years back. Truth be told, it’s been a terrifying experience so far, leaving his mountain home of Sky Town and traversing the continent with only the foggiest idea of where to go, but to give up now would be failure, and the Coda family does not fail.

Aiding him in his quest is his magnum opus, his master creation, his “Taketalk;” a magic-powered portable phone-radio hybrid he spent ages developing. Yes, that’s right, this pink pile of social anxiety has developed magical cellphones, and he thinks they’ll be a big hit! Well, when he has more than two anyway. Or more than one, actually; the second one was lost during a desperate bid to get it to his mother, and though he still calls it frequently, no one’s picked up. Until… recently, anyway. Now Dexter’s got himself someone to talk to, someone he can help, someone who can help him! If he can keep himself from having a catastrophic fit over it all, things might just turn out ok after all.
