Ketojan

It was a weird day in an otherwise sleepy city when a band of sword-bearing kintaurs entered the city on foot, all dressed in clothes more suited for a high fantasy universe than an urban industrial district. The police were kinda unsure what to do when the strange group took post around a derelict warehouse, especially when a few of the more defensive pilgrims started pointing actual crossbows at random passersby. After a very confusing two-day standoff, Ketojan was sent out as an emissary. Seemingly expecting that the police would know exactly what he was talking about, Ketojan explained that the leader of his clan had felt a supernatural calling to this very spot, where a tree was supposedly growing inside the warehouse that would bear magical fruit that would heal any ailment. Unconvinced, the police attempted to storm the place, but were quickly met with enough resistance from the tree's guardians that they figured it wasn't worth the effort just to reclaim an abandoned warehouse. Besides, the guardians didn't seem to disrupt anything provided nobody stepped foot in their weird little fort.

As the chosen emissary of the guardians, Ketojan is the only guardian that will actually converse with strangers. He's very cryptic about the origins of his fellows and his behavior makes it all the more confusing, as he doesn't seem to understand most modern technology and will sometimes start muttering in a language nobody can identify. While very stoic, closed-off and stony-faced at a first glance, Ketojan is much more willing than his peers to embrace modern society and has been spotted spending hours in the local laundromat watching clothes turn round in the washing machines. He can actually be quite chivalrous and will often compliment random people on the street, even if the compliments are a bit strange ("Ma'am, you seem to have very well-defined shins. I'm sure you could climb up any boulder with ease.") He's even made a few friends in the city, even if most of his friends are just his friends because they find it funny to bring him to social events. Still, his role as a guardian of the life-giving tree comes first, and Keto will become incredibly angry if anyone suggests that he should leave his band of guardians completely.
