Amethys

Species, Abilities
Amethys is a ghost and Ghosts usually don't have any kind of personality but she's special because her source is a god. As such a special ghost, she can decide to be visible to others or she can stay invisible. Her body can appear transparent or shadowy as if it's fading away. Sometimes her body appears slightly glowy but she can also decide to look like a casual cat – as long as giant cats with wings can be described as casual.
She can possess people's minds – one at a time – to let them fight against their friends, to destroy their happiness and what not. Or she can directly talk to people to influence them.
Since she has technically no body, she can walk through things and is unable to do physical attacks, though she can fight against a person with her mind and she usually wins.

As soon as Samara, her counterpart, is around her, her personality changes slightly. Then it mixes up with Samaras and both of them are able to live without feeling the need to change something or to get involved with others. They are usually linked wherever they go, but since Samara was locked up by Eliot somehow, Amethys had nobody to keep her mind at balance.



Story
Amethys story is closely connected to the one of her source Leara. Leara is the goddess of Light and the only one of the gods who connects so much to their element that they'd be called by it. She was convinced that light was a good thing and she was obsessed with doing good, spreading love and all that, she projected it on her element and started to think, that this element is the source of all the good she's doing. All that worked well, nobody got hurt by it, but when the one she loved, Sombra – the god of shadows – betrayed her and used her, she decided that the thing at fault was his Element, the Element of Darkness. So when she created Eltara, she decided not to create the element of Darkness in general. But it's impossible to create a balanced world while neglecting a complete element. As a consequence, everything she created contained a bit of Darkness. And since she didn't take care of that darkness, it got out of control and spread throughout her world. That's how war in her world, Eltara started.
The two ghosts that represent her are Samara who represents her pure intentions of helping others and, the will to do good and the love towards others, Amethys represents the hate she has inside of her. Amethys doesn't have the element of Darkness. Amethys has the Element of light, since that's Learas Element. And it proofs that an Element has nothing to do with the intentions and personality of a person. What Amethys is, is the feeling of hate. Because while she wanted to fight the hate, she didn't realize that she started hating herself: The element of Darkness.

Though, Amethys didn't do anything bad at first, after all, Samara was there to prevent it. Both of them just lived quietly in balance, watching over Eltara. They still watched when the war broke out.  And one day, a boy called Eliot developed a method to lock up ghosts and obtain their abilities. Ghost that he locked up was Samara. He immediately realized that she was special, that she was one of the goddess's ghosts.
Amethys, now disconnected from her counterpart, started getting involved with people and playing with their emotions, destroying everything good. She started enjoying the war. One day she found Eve, A girl trying to rescue the broken world, trying to stop the war. And Amethys who knew that the one who she would have to fight in the end was the girls brother, decided to 'help' her. She told her how to get more powerful and how to perform a ghost ritual, that basically pulls all the ghosts around to the performer of the ritual. Then they could accept them in their body and it would give them more abilities and more lifetime. After performing the ritual though, she realized that everyone around this place died. Amethys didn't tell her that ghosts inside people would come too and bring their life time with them. So she basically killed everyone around, which is something she never wanted. There were quite a few incidents like this that helped the girl but that she regretted most of them afterwards.
In the end they helped her to kill her brother though and the ghost Samara who was locked by this Brother got free. But Samara was overwhelmed by the hate that Amethys experienced while Samara wasn't there for her. She couldn't really think clearly and She had to confront Amethys several times until she could link their souls again. The incident that made it possible was when Amethys tried to kill Samara. At that moment she could link their souls back together. Amethys did not regret anything but she decided to go back to the old days and not get involved too much anymore. She also decided not to destroy the world, which was a goal she was chasing before.
