- obviously, she was not one of the immediate successors to L - such position in the house is pretty much impossible to live up to, as those who are within the top five most intelligent of the residents are naturally predisposed to being so intelligent in the first place (i.e. born prodigies, or neurological conditions such as ASD etc.), and natalia didn't fall under these categories. she's always taken a liking to forensic science, criminology and psychology, so the information sank in easily and she was able to vastly expand her knowledge on these at a young age. growing up in a place like she did, she was provided the resources and encouragement to develop her knowledge of more complex subjects early on, as well as the carers using her brain plasticity (the critical learning period) to help her easily develop a very advanced vocabulary, as was done with all of the children. it was very typical of residents in their teens to take up university courses, getting sophisticated qualifications when they're around 14. natalia got her master's degree in forensics by the time she was 18.
- her greatest strengths are in forensic science (e.g. criminology, biological forensics like DNA profiling, and forensic psychology), and pharmacology to a lesser extent. the children were often encouraged to take on a STEM pathway in their education, as this would benefit L's detective resources, so being highly skilled in the forensic field gives natalia an advantage when it comes to unsolved cases, as being involved in these things is purely chance for people like her, who aren't nearly as gifted as N or M.
- natalia suffers from BPD. (expand on this; reckless behaviour she channels into her persona "laurie", this is how she tries to get away with wild and impulsive behaviours. work on the laurie section at some point)
- natalia loves scented candles, she has a specific brand she only buys from (yankee, obviously) and she likes most scents but she still plays favourites, if you were to go into her room or closet you'd probably find literal hundreds of scented candles, some days her close friends swear she has a problem, her excuse? brand loyalty.
