Profile
Darisi
Friendly • Upbeat • Semi-paternal
"What do you call the part of an engine that can register sounds? An engine-ear!"
Darisi comes from the southern parts of Ferrusilia, closer to the equator of Amphir where it's warmer. He's friendly with most people upon meeting, but don't let that fool you. He can be quite fierce when his temper is roused, though it's difficult feat to accomplish. He's a chipper fellow, and very much an optimist. He strives to see the best in others and their intentions. He also has a habit of unofficially adopting people, turning himself into somewhat of a mentor or, as many of the younger ones will attest, a father figure.
He and his spouse run a repair shop together, where he works primarily on mechanical bodies and limbs, and where he also trains apprenticies that he will inevitably adopt.

Childhood
Darisi's upbringing was relatively normal, though he was oftentimes a bit too trusting. This led to him getting tricked or used for various childhood schemes of the other kids. Despite this, he didn't seem to mind.
He found himself befriending many of the outcasts and bullied and many became close to him. He would comfort them and offer them his optimism and company, especially when things felt rough for them. It wasn't until one of the kids he had grown attached to was hospitalized from a group of bullies that he became more physical with his comforts.
As he grew, he found himself getting in more fights, and surprisingly adept at them. His parents often scolded him, but never truly punished him for it.
Adolescence
He didn't go around picking fights, despite his anger playing a large part in his altercations, but fought when someone else was trying to get physical. It wasn't uncommon for him to try to exhaust every other option before a fight, and it was rare he was the first to throw a punch.
As he continued to grow into himself, he found himself increasingly drawn to making things. Physical things. Though not the most artsy of people, he grew excited in art classes when the assignments leaned to sculptures. He got into things like making little scrap sculptures here and there, and began taking things apart around the house to find out how they ticked (much to his parents' chagrin). His keen interest in making things drove him towards engineering, particularly in ways he could apply it to helping people.
Adulthood
With schooling geared towards it, he flourished in his studies. He even worked on his magical studies so he could at least be able to apply basic artificing techniques and the like to his devices. It took effort to get himself an apprenticeship, and while he did well and excelled at his work, his trusting nature, through tempered, ultimately ended up with him getting utterly shafted. As a result of being framed by coworkers who were jealous of his work, and a boss who wasn't above taking bribes, Darisi was fired.
The defamation plagued him and he was turned away for several promising jobs. It was while leaving one of those failed interviews that he met Noma, bumping into them while his eyes were cast down and his mind was somewhere else. He quickly hurried to catch the papers that he'd caused them to drop, though they seemed rather calm about it. They were beautiful, and he figured he may as well shoot his shot. A week later, they took him up on his offer. The two spent time together and Noma had managed to help him get a new job, using their own connections.
After years with the company, and a few with Noma themselves, he grew weary of it. He craved to make a difference in peoples' lives. In his spare time, he'd found himself adept at making both prosthetics and bodies for people and omina, and had decided he wanted to make that his profession. He would be available to commission but he also made generic ones that one could buy for a cheaper price.
As his business grew, he found he had difficulty managing it all. Noma came to his rescue, and by the time Darisi was 35, they were able to expand enough to make the money to purchase their own building and go into business as more than just a pair of faces and a name.
As his clout continued to grow, Darisi took on apprentices, particularly those that seemed to struggle to find them. They helped him with the generic pieces and would be allowed to work their own commissions, if they so desired.
Darisi's spouse. Between their calm, steady demeanor and his own persistent but humble ambition, they run a shop together. Darisi makes and repairs things while Noma tends the shop and keeps it stocked with parts. They're the rock in his life that keeps things steady and keeps him on track.
Originally part of only Noma's network, Morhen is a skilled artificer and enchanter. While Darisi can do a little artificing, Morhen is far more skilled and can do a large range of items and enchantments ane artificing. She's the shop's main contact in that regard. He also considers her a friend and will spend time with her in his off time.
