YELLOW JACKET
You really did think you were all that, huh?
Yellow Jacket is a superhero - hold the super. He resides in the heart of Las Vegas, Nevada, and is set in an alternative 70's setting. Although there aren't many traces of superpowers to be had, this does very little to limit him in his passion to protect others. Headstrong, witty, and seemingly undefeatable - even when faced with situations much larger than him.
Professionally speaking in his day-to-day life, Charles works as a tech engineer at a nearby robotics corp. At heart, he has a true passion for cars, and works on his own as part of his hobby. As a matter of fact, he drives a fixer-upper 1969 Camaro fastback coined Yellow Jacket. Yes, his own alias is named after his own car! Its difficult coming up with a name on the spot when confronted for the first time - not a whole lot of time to be creative... thus, the superhero invented himself.
While Yellow Jacket has no fully fleshed out superpowers yet, he does have enhanced healing, high stamina, and striking charisma - no, the last one's all natural.
Work has the tendency to be simple. But it is only a matter of time before this hero meets his true match... and it isn't who we might expect it to be.
SUPERPOWERS
Yellow Jacket possesses standard superhero abilities; he has enhanced power and durability. He is able to withstand more pain than your average civilian, alongside possessing admirable strength and speed. More superpowers come to light through his own adventures - and Yellow Jacket finds that they emerge when he needs them the most.
Below are the very subliminal traits that reveal themselves - this does not include all of them, nor his supersuit/wingpack abilities.
Hyper-reflex
Yellow Jacket is able to precisely pinpoint disaster prior to it actually happening. Think of enhanced dread, minus the hysteria. He becomes extremely focused and time seems to slow down to a long march. His senses combine into a working unit and he is able to defuse threats long before they harm him or those he is defending.
Pheromone Sensory
Much like that of his pollinating predecessors, Yellow Jacket can be empowered or manipulated through pheromones alone. From sending him into an aggroed state to making him flee - or simply allowing him to differentiate friend from foe, this trait determines his outcome before he even steps into the ring.
Unconventional Hearing
You may be familiar with Yellow Jacket's antennae. The attachments are linked to his hearing aids, as Charles is hard of hearing. When not in use or with his hearing aids removed, he is still unable to hear clearly. However, that very state is enhanced in of itself. Vibrations may have their exact locations traced, leading to a highly alert state of awareness that Yellow Jacket has learned to master. Alongside his stinger ability, this trait is only further enhanced.
Stingers
All along Yellow Jacket's body are tiny, translucent, razor-like hairs (not to be confused with his regular-schmegular body hair LOL) much like that on the bodies of wasps and fuzzy bees. They serve their purpose as micro projectiles. Think of a tarantula, how it flicks the pointy hairs off of its legs when it is threatened or bothered - Yellow Jacket's serve the same purpose.
During a training session out in the Mojave, Yellow Jacket and a co-worker found out just how much of a threat these seemingly harmless hairs could be in unison. A surfboard they used as a shield wound up more tattered than a dartboard after one demonstration. Typically, these projectiles are shed from Yellow Jacket's arms, where his skin is most exposed when in uniform. And yes, they do have a small dose of venom. It'll make you itchy!
As mentioned prior, these stingers also aide in Yellow Jacket's unassisted hearing. The hairs transport information from the vibrations in his environment to his brain. This occurs in real time, giving him the ability to feel his nonphysical surroundings.
RELATIONSHIPS
- Honey Badger - Arch nemesis. Ensnared in Honey Badger's endless torrent of hysteria and repetitive conflicts, Yellow Jacket has almost grown accustomed to their battles. They can never quite erase the other out of existence, or at least their lives. Regardless, it is only a matter of time before the two must come to terms with a force greater than the both of them - which brings a question to mind: is protecting everyone something Yellow Jacket is truly capable of?
- King Cobra - A strange curiosity orbits him when she comes to mind. She seems awfully familiar, or is it just because she pretends that Yellow Jacket himself is no stranger? She most definitely is intimidating. But he has no reason to dislike her...
