Chains is a barbarian boy just trying his best to be a fancy paladin in shining armor to serve Woedica. Hot tempered and stubborn he tries to keep his raging to a minimum and serve his community with honor. Having found a place with a small group of adventurers, he acts on his best friend in order to stop a shady organization and appease an eccentric inventor. Easily bored , he's happy to be out and about.

Rage

Sure, he could go to therapy for his anger issues but like what if he tried to suppress it while also going on adventures where going on a rampage against infuriating enemies could be helpful??? Gains advantage on STR checks and saving throws (not attacks), +2 melee damage with STR weapons, resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, slashing damage.

Divine Sense

Although not the sharpest spoon in the lightbulb, he can a knack for sensing when trouble is brewing. He can detect good and evil. He can sense anything affected by the hallow spell or know the location of any celestial, fiend, undead within 60 ft. that is not behind total cover.

Form of the Beast

When Chains enters a rage, he can transform, revealing bestial power within him. Until the rage ends, he manifests a natural weapon. This can extend his fangs, looking almost like a sabertooth, to do 1d8+4 as a bite. Or grow his claws, long and curved to slash 1d6+4. Even enhancing his tail, allowing him to use it as an even harsher attack or defense.

Divine Smite

When he hits with a melee weapon attack, he can expend one spell slot to deal 2d8 extra radiant damage to the target plus 1d8 for each spell level higher than 1st (max 5d8) and plus 1d8 against undead or fiends (max 6d8 total)

He grew up with a close knit family alongside fellow tabaxi with a strong emphasis on community where he met Gale of Sparks, who would quickly become his best friend. Always willing to stand up to bullies Chains got into many scraps in his childhood, with his father, a former guard, taught him how to fight. The family worshiped Woedica at the prompting of Chains' mother and Chains will always cherish this connection.

Past

While initially doling out what he thought was karma or justice for himself or his friends on the poor streets of Delgosi against bullies, after Chains' mother passed, he desperately sought more ways to keep those close to him safe. Soon realizing he was called to protect not just those close to him, but anyone who needed it. Dedicating himself to the service of Woedica and frequenting temples, he became a paladin. He trains daily and does his best to hone his talents in a meaningful way. Has a difficult time speaking to his god, but still trusts that her way is right.

Present

He returned to his hometown frequently as he found various tasks and adventures to focus himself on. After one particularly nasty incident resulting in the loss of his tail, he sought out his friend Gale, who had become quite the inventor, capable of throwing together all sorts of creative contraption. She eagerly built him a prosthetic tail, and some time later, called on him for a quick favor. Asking him to help her lead a group of adventurers out of a city, trying to protect a young child and his con-artist father. Chains obliged and found himself traveling with this group for much longer than he anticipated, which suits him fine as long as they seek to do good.
