Pepper's memories only go so far back to her younger years living on the streets with her older brother, Paprika. Any recollection of her life before has long since vanished. Although Paprika may mention their parents on rare occasions, her memories simply come up blank. Destitue and poor, the two would scour their impoverished district, collecting trash for a few coins. Knowing the danger of their situation, Paprika was her everything and she would do as he told with no mistake. If he told her to stay, she would wait in the same spot, despite hunger or weather until he told her to move; a disposition she took up as a means of survival.
After a miraculous stroke of luck, the two were picked up by a royal scout to serve the ruler of their nation along with other children of similar status. For the first time in years, the two would sleep in comfort with full stomachs. However, they would soon find that such care came with a stipulation. After a few days of performing chores in the home they resided, the children would trade their brooms for weapons as they were tossed into a vicious training regimine to build the children into fighters. What Pepper and Paprika didn't know, was that they were being recruited into a program to create assassins. The two trained for years, climbing up the ranks, and becoming members of their ruler's elite bodyguards. Under the command of their new master, they would protect the pride of their people by assasinating poor political actors.
After the events of the Grand Food War, their ruler would gift the two to the Queen of Purrasia as a show of peace between the two rulers' nations. With Pepper's experience as a bodyguard, she would be assigned to take care of Prince Salty. At first, the prince hated having Pepper follow him around like a dog, doing everything he could to get rid of her. After many insults, she would take up the persona that her prince accused her of being; a dumb, ditzy girl, with nothing between her ears. Despite her airheaded yet endearing attitude, the prince would eventually give in, and now her precense is much more tolerated.
Now working with the crown, Pepper hopes that she can fulfill her duties to the fullest and by doing so, bring more favor to her home country.
