Even though being the fourth son, it is said his namesake was related to his mother, the seventh mistress Viscount brought home. Listed as illegitimate, not only because he wasn't born to the Viscountess, but his mother was also an ordinary human who had never been seen in public. Even according to some rumors circulate the mansion/ archive the young master grew up in,  he was allegedly conceived when the mistress succumbed to a demonic state due to being transformed but didn't have access to fresh blood for feeding.
The first time this kind of information reached the young vampire's ears, it was said that the gossiper didn't walk out of the premise in one piece. Settimio also received a visible scar by the reprimand of the Viscountess, occasionally when this mysterious man appears during dinner parties and balls, that old anecdote will be recalled by his peer vampires and then immediately brush away.

Despite being clearly hated by the first lady and daughter, the illegitimate son still clings to the unwilling family members like a stubborn leech, giving the impression of a boot licker who can do anything for power and position. His particular background makes it difficult for him to be acknowledged by the family's elders, but his skills are undeniable to the Lombroso junior bats. At the very least, Settimio's constant presence and help clearly outweighed the two older siblings who had run away together to America, and the third sister who had married into an alliance with a neighboring family. Settimio has proven to be a useful partisan with a hand in most of the family's bussiness, both openly and secretly. Especially after choosing the right side in the family civil war around 1837 and offered the Lombrosos an estate that he built himself, his position was slowly but surely consolidate by his cousin of the victorious side.
His mixed blood and history of living in other clans to serve as a servant helped him approach humans with ease and therefore was considered less threatening by lower-class vampires than other hybrid or pureblood masters. Settimio is therefore often assigned by the family head to manage the above vampire group as well as recruit and convert candidates who have not been brainwashed by the church, or simply engage in diplomacy with the humans who were unaware about their world, even the crypt where blood from a large number of the family's political enemies was detained and harvested was placed under his control.

Until 1890, when the vampire was carrying out an insider mission within a church organization, he has fallen for another traitor vampire who sided with the church against his own kind, and was briefly expelled from the clan in less than two months after decades of building himself up, before coming back again nonchalantly
