TW: ABUSE, NEGLECT, ATTEMPTED MURDER

Kaana is originally from the UK. Her family moved to the US eventually and became citizens. 

Kaana came from a long line of magic users. In her world, the soul can be a powerful thing that may wield the power of magic. Not everyone is lucky enough to have a strong enough soul. When Kaana was born, she didn't have the abilities that her family had. She grew up without powers, at least until she was 16. Her lack of abilities did not settle well with her family, considering that they owned a circus act that played with their powers for other's entertainment. They thought she was defective, and ruining their family name. 

Her family consists of Myla, Kendra, and her parents. Myla is the only one in her family that she still talks to. Her parents were quite terrible to her, and so was Kendra. They abused and used her to do their bidding, refusing to give her the care she needed back. Kendra had her own mental troubles, and seeing her parents treat Kaana so poorly made her dive down the rabbit hole. She attempted to poison Kaana, leaving her in the hospital for some time. Her parents barely came to see her as she stayed. 

Around the age of 16, she gained her powers. She became stronger than her parents, having two powers into one. Her father was only a water elemental, but could not manipulate ice. Kaana was able to manipulate both, and to a large extent too. Her powers also allow her to manipulate the water in blood, but she never uses it. When she first gained her powers, it was hard to control them. She had to take a year just learning how to use them properly. It scared her for a while, but she eventually gained the abilities she needed. 

When Kaana turned 18, she left home. If she hadn't came into high school in the sophomore year, she would have been the highest in her class. Receiving scholarships for school, she still couldn't afford it. So, when she left home she had to live from home to home and work odd jobs. Though, this ends when she meets Maxle, who puts out an advertisement for an official roommate. He becomes very close to her, and they eventually fall in love. 

Maxle is the reason why she finally goes to school. He also is the reason why she graduates and becomes the music teacher she always wished to be. Depending on how far along they are in their story, they also have two beautiful children, Chance and Charity.
