Jacob usually wears a standard business suit in gray or black, with a black or burgundy tie and black dress shoes. For a more formal look, he may wear the jacket in a different color (like red for the Christmas Ball) and for a casual look, he will leave the tie and jacket off. When it's colder out, he prefers to wear a trench coat. Notably, he wears an expensive watch, containing a jewel inside that used to belong to his mother.

story
(Warning: SPOILERS!!!) Jacob was born in the South Side of Chicago in a poor area, where he lived with his family in an apartment until the age of two. When his mother was pregnant with his sister, Holly, their father died of a heart attack. Months later, complications at the hospital due to Pitocin caused their mother to die of hemorrhage when giving birth to Holly. Due to having no family to take them in, Jacob and Holly were shunted into an orphanage, where baby Holly was adopted right away but Jacob stayed until the age of fourteen, when he emancipated himself and went to a charity all-boys boarding school in the city of Chicago. He ran track in high school and became captain of the track team. He went to New York University on a track scholarship, where he studied business. He began his work at Five-Star Hardware (based in NYC and Chicago) as an intern and by his thirtieth birthday, he was head of the Sales department. Several months after his thirtieth birthday, he left NYC and relocated to Snowfall Hills, Wisconsin, where he met the love of his life, Richard Palmetto, and invested in his company. The story is slightly historical (takes place in the nineties) so they couldn’t marry yet, but they moved in together and had one biological child (Annie, named for Jacob’s mother Annabelle) with the help of a surrogate. When they were finally allowed to do so, they married on the Christmas of 2014. As soon as they could they adopted two kids out of foster care, a set of siblings named Tommy and Kelly.
