Jeff regards most things with a level of emotional dissonance and humor that's hard to pierce through. He's a nihilist at heart; since the day his life as a proxy began, he's been doomed for the worst punishment, so everything else kind of doesn't matter. He will go along with pretty much anything and has a hard time taking things seriously, especially himself. Jovial, easy to please, intimidating, and very, very lucid.

He's very open with his thoughts and feelings and his Opinion on things. He harbors an immense guilt over his actions, because as far as he knows he's doing this all on his own volition. Deep down, somewhere, he must've wanted to. It's this knowledge that's been plaguing him for years.

He considers his arrangement with Eliza an immense cosmic joke. He likes talking to her.

After doing this so long he is pretty good at being resourceful with weapons and knows his way around a knife. He's stronger than the average human and can take a lot more hits. He is also kind of immortal and can't die; he just comes back.

Jeff grew up in a high-strung, ascetic home with strict parents. After the events that ended several lives, he ran away -- and for several years after that attempted to stop the compulsions any way he could. He eventually gave up and just went with it. By the time he meets Eliza, he originally has plans to simply kill her until they are both interrupted by a monster. He's so entertained by this twist he professes that he won't lay a finger on her as long as they travel together to the place she's attempting to go to. In reality, part of his plan later is to let her kill him in order to break her curse. Until then, she deeply distrusts him and keeps him at arm's length, which he believes is a very, very wise decision.
