Summary: Seth is an incubus who was taken in by the church the day he was to be exorcised and sent back to hell. During his time at the church, he was brainwashed into resenting all the 'primal' and 'disgusting' urges his nature encouraged him to do, turning to a life of purity and spreading the word of god. One day, he set out on a journey to test his faith. Because of Seth's overexposure to holy material, he is immune to holy power, an ability that'd otherwise instantly vaporise him. He sees intimacy as a sin, drinking holy water to rid his body of urges and to supplement his essence requirements.

Overall behaviour: Selaphiel walks a thin line between good and evil, with his mind wiped of his previous life as a fiend he dedicates himself to the church. While visiting hospitals and churches, Selaphiel is met with venomous glares by those he aids whilst other fiends gauk and laugh at him. Selaphiel doesn't blame those who hate him as he's well aware of his kind's intentions, assuring others he's carrying out the will of the gods through blessings and his teachings. The conflict of not having a true community to connect with affects him daily, yet he believes the pain in his solitary life is the gods' punishment for being born the way he was. Selaphiel is a strict, seemingly cold being, constantly berating others for their sinful ways even if their sins are products of their environments. He always carries small verses and copies of holy books to give out,

COMBAT

Clerics are intermediaries between the mortal world and the distant planes of the gods. As varied as the gods they serve, clerics strive to embody the handiwork of their deities. No ordinary priest, a cleric is imbued with divine magic.

Abilities (If any):

Charm. One humanoid Seph can see within 30 feet of it must manage to resist the demonic charm's magic or be magically charmed for 1 day. The charmed target obeys the fiend's verbal or telepathic commands. If the target suffers any harm or receives a suicidal command, it can attempt to break free of the effect, ending the effect on a success. If the target successfully saves against the effect, or if the effect on it ends, the target is immune to this fiend's Charm for the next 24 hours. The fiend can have only one target charmed at a time. If it charms another, the effect on the previous target ends.

Draining Kiss. The fiend kisses a creature, draining their life force to sustain their own. Drained lifeforce can restore Seph's vitality and heal wounds. It also has minor psychokinetic abilities, allowing Seph to learn information from the victim's mind.  

Etherealness. The fiend magically enters the Ethereal Plane from the Material Plane, or vice versa.

Shapechanger. The fiend can use its action to polymorph into a Small or Medium humanoid, or back into its true form. Without wings, the fiend loses its flying speed. Other than its size and speed, its statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.

Telepathic Bond. The fiend ignores the range restriction on its telepathy when communicating with a creature it has charmed. The two don't even need to be on the same plane of existence.

Combat Weaknesses: While fiends are usually vulnerable to holy power and radiant magic, Seth's overexposure to holy materials has made him resistant to its effects, Low offensive abilities, believes that fighting isn’t the answer


BACKSTORY

Selaphiel was a high-ranking incubus in the underworld, frequently tormenting the mortal plane and gaining a malicious reputation amongst kingdoms. Taverns were cautious with letting drunk patrons wander on home as they knew of the danger lurking in the form of a sweet, handsome young man. Selaphiel lived a life of pure adultery, relishing in sin and everything humanity had to offer. Eventually, his reign was to be ended by a noble paladin set to slice the fiend’s head clean off. The church of the goddess Kokorohime intervened in this process, vowing that, with the power of their forgiving power bestowed upon them by Her grace, this demon would be cleansed of sin and walk amongst mortals as if he too were a man. 

Selaphiel gawked at the priests at first, finding their pitiful attempts of conversion embarrassing. What he didn’t expect was for one of the lead priests to take on the challenge personally, the incubus proving no match for the raw unbridled power of their faith. After years of conversion, facing the likes of physical and mental torture, Selaphiel had changed by an extreme amount. Now a faithful follower of the church, he takes on an oath to spread the word of faith, cleansing sin wherever it may linger. 




NOTES

- Selaphiel isn’t frequently recognised as the incubus he used to be due to the sheer change in appearance and behaviour. However, those who knew him prior, are knowledgeable about him, or were victims may recognise him. 

- He teaches children how to read and write every Sunday

-Worships the church of light and Her Grace Kokorohime, the Lumino dragon
