TRIVIA
???

She grew up as the single child of a rather well-off family. Her mother and father were regular civilians working as a lawyer and doctor respectively, but because of their occupations they decided to leave their daughter on her own once they deemed her responsible enough to be left home on her own. Although she performed well to her parents’ expectations by being obedient, responsible, and achieving excellent grades, the lack of proper guidance and affection led to Ryley growing apathetic toward others and life in general.

She had no siblings to play with and was often at home (sans extracurricular activities) because her parents deemed it safer, which made it difficult to form close friendships. Consequently, Ryley was forced to entertain herself through whatever toys or means she could get her grubby hands on. Being forced to watch others from an outsider’s view made her perceptive about other people, but the distance also makes it difficult for her to sympathize with others.

As Ryley grew older, she decided that rather than pander to her parents’ wills she would seek out a much more stimulating life, hence her enrollment into Grimoire Academy. In retrospect, it was the best decision of her life--gaining friends and learning how to properly socialize with people.

After losing more of her (first) friends to the Seraphs five some years back, Ryley decided to keep raising her baby ghoul instead of losing something else again. She threw herself into medicinal studies, eventually specializing in emergency medicine because it incorporated multiple skills from different specialties but also because she wanted to become better at on-the-spot treatment (esp. after Shiro RIP). Due to her division and intense studying, her main occupation rightfully became a doctor, although her personality and presentation can make her patients wary.

Five years has been ample time for her to fine tune her relationship skills, with Ryley now able to form normal, lasting friendships. She's also honed her cooking skills and widened her choice of attire--often switching between feminine, masculine, formal, informal, etc. that can throw many people off if they're not used to it.

With the Seraphs back, she's lost as many friends as she's gained, and the onslaught of conflict and fighting has morphed her friendly personality into something else. She's kind one second, and then turning her head the other way from what she would've normally considered good, but perhaps that was only because she wanted to follow the flow.

Really, all that matters is surviving against the Seraphs. Disregarding the method, Ryley bit the bullet and swallowed her friend's soul. Regret or not, she's still glad she did it, even if it means destroying everything she'd built for herself.

After waking up from her brief comatose, she’s found herself somewhat at a lost, but also angry—at herself, at the people and things that’ve changed, at things that can’t be brought back. She thought she amended most of her problems by separating from Roxy’s soul, but there’s really no point in hoping for happy endings.

Merciless | Bitter | Contradictory | Semi-Amiable | Parental

At her core, Ryley never did feel regret at hurting others. She actually has no qualms about inflicting pain, especially physical pain, onto other people unless she considers them a close friend. The only reason she restrains herself is because maintaining order is the easier option, and that many of the people she considers friends or good acquaintances also seem to frown upon unneeded or excessive violence. But in the end, what she cares most is about herself and her friends, not the wellbeing of strangers and enemies.

Similar to when she first enrolled into Grimoire, Ryley normally displays a whimsical and amiable disposition. But unlike before, there is a lingering sense of bitterness and pessimism, though she tries her best to not overdo it. On a similar vein, she can also across as conceited. To Ryley, she is "smarter" than most of these nitwits and while she'll show restraint with good friends, she won't hesitate to spit on everyone else. But being whimsical also means she is contradictory much more often. Sometimes she'll look down on people for being aggressively barbaric, but angrily engage in a fight herself in the next moment.

To her friends and people she likes, she still acts very parental. She'll cook for them, lean in to adjust their clothes, etc. To them, it's as if Ryley hasn't changed--until she ends up in a fight, that is.

- approximately 6’1”
- often thought to be a guy when dressing masculine
- Ethnicity: Welsh
- natural hair color: blonde blue, natural eye color: blue and green
- don't call her RyRy, not anymore
- very good at cooking and hairstyling
- fluent in French
- her soul is adaptable; it's slightly warm and uncomfortably muggy, as if trying and failing to be welcoming. you find yourself in a forest clearing, which is brightly lit, but the forest itself is somewhat dark and empty. whatever movement you see quickly disappears, trying to hide itself from prying eyes. there is a lake you can look into; your reflection looks back at you with what appears to be life, as if the echo of yourself is alive and piercing you.
- people she likes in no particular order: Roxy, Freddy + Noelle by extension, Hollis, Pasha, Lexi, Asriel, Lavern, Vance (in a cat likes its toy kind of way), Ralph/Griff (in a love-hate kind of way)
