Basic Biography: Having grown up in the Village of Dragons—Drake knew a lot of Dragon-type Pokemon as he was growing up, but he never received his first Pokemon companion until moving to the Galar Region (temporarily). Most people in the village were friendly and very “family oriented”, which is why he’s a very friendly person. His mother was a Pokemon Researcher who had travelled the world and settled down in Blackthorne with Francis Masters, who is an actor (that has fallen in-and-out of work over the years, so mostly he works odd jobs within Blackthorne between his acting jobs).At the age of 15, his mom got a grant to do research in the Galar Region and for a year it was decided that Drake would go with his mom and attend school in a new region and gain experience of the world outside of Blackthorne. He took his first Pokemon Journey while in the Galar Region and began to encounter new Pokemon beyond the Dragon-types he grew up with.
**Personal notes**
I don’t often take a character from a game and make an OC of it. It’s a rare instance, and only my other D&D character was one such who came from a game and I created an OC of. While I don’t rate the modern Pokemon (Sword/Shield/Scarlet/Violet) up there with the classic Pokemon games, I was actually very happy with the design work I put into customizing my Shield game’s player-character. (I spent lots of money acquiring all the outfit and accessories! *LOL*) I did draw some pieces of art focused on him and his Pokemon (the first few I had in the game)………and in the end, I thought that this would be a character I would happily do more themed artwork of and put more of a background story into. As you can tell, by the origins I gave my player-character OC—Johto is my favorite region of the Pokemon series and Dragon does tend to be my favorite type, although I have many Pokemon that I personally like that are not Dragon-type specifically.
