Keane

Keane is a rare Simulacrum class android, commissioned into existence by a very rich old man who had nothing better to do with his time. He missed his family and wanted to have a daughter around again. He also did this in a really weird way, by telling Keane that it was normal for people to keep androids on house arrest and own them like objects.

Keane, regardless, was in no way fit to be his friendly and conversational replacement daughter. While he made adjustments for her dry and introverted self, she was never comfortable. She eventually confronted him with her suspicions and he told her the truth. He let her leave and she shut him out of her life entirely.

Dealing with such a traumatic lie would become a centerpiece of her worldview. No longer willing to take what people say at face value, Keane always wants to see the evidence and investigate firsthand. This is why she makes such a competent police officer in the confusing crime world of Empyrea. She has a new partner who is an undead guy that gets on her nerves.

Besides that, she lives her life as normally as she can, and attends a book club faithfully every month.
