Profile

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:

6'1" and slender, with a longish face upon which heavy square frame glasses sit. His thick, black hair is often tied back in a hasty, and careless manner.
Based upon his surname and the description of his mother, he understand that he is at least half Korean, but he has no idea who or what his father was.

 PERSONALITY:

For the most part, Llyon sports a soft voice and a peaceful demeanor. Any ripples in his outward appearance manifests as a knitted brow and a bitten lip; rarely anything more concerning than that.

But still waters run deep.

BACK STORY:

On a cold January night, Llyon was found as an orphaned new born, at the steps of a catholic church. When his mother was questioned about her abandonment, she spoke with wide-eyed terror of how God commanded her to destroy the child; that as long as he lived, the world would be mired in strife and destruction. The child, she explained, was Abaddon.

The child's arrival followed on the heels of the first world war, and it seemed unlikely that the world would ever experience anything like it again. His mother was quickly deemed phychologically unwell and unfit to raise a child, and Apollyon was taken in to be raised by Mother Rose, and the church.

Growing up, Llyon was the very definition of a troubled child. Despite the best efforts of Rose and her peers, and despite the support structure that assisted him, Llyon expertly pushed their limits. He made a game of testing how much abuse a person would tolerate before he could shatter the 'facade' of their loving patience. The shadow of his mother's insanity followed him through every stage of his life--and while his namesake went largely unheeded, the nervousness that Llyon might inheret his mother's unsound mind lingered in the air between everyone who knew him.

As he matured, he desired more and more to prove them wrong. He resolved to become a better person, a Good person--and sought ordainment as a way of realizing these goals. But, his prior behaviors had been a symptom of problems left unsolved. While he no longer allowed his destructive tendancies to boil up and scald those around him, he turned it upon himself. The evidence of his own anger and loathing--rather than manifesting as an outward tantrum, a fist fight, or shattered glass upon the floor--expressed itself instead by the torn, bloody and bruised flesh of his own back.

His official ordainment came during a time when the world was gripped once again by the jaws of war. It was a war that saw the fall of Paris, and the rise of the Vichy regime. During those years, the wary stares of Apollyon's associates burned into him, their whispered jibes and aggrivating rumors frayed his confidence. The insane ramblings of his late mother, while left unheeded, had never been forgotten; the turmoil and instability of war on home soil inspired superstition. Even as the war came to a close with the liberation of France following soon after, Llyon remained the scapegoat among his ordained peers. It seemed that, despite his best efforts, there was a stark lack of goodness to be found in him. While his congregation by and large appeared to return his love for them, Llyon could only internalized the scathing judgements of those fellow clergymen he worked closely with.
