Daniel Najjar

Daniel Najjar is, objectively speaking, doing ok in life. He has a stable job as a accountant that pays him well enough to put food on the table. He is on good terms with both Mayzie and her mom, possibly being the one person who understands how Mayzie sees the world the most. He's never done drugs, never had a criminal record, so things are fine, right?

It would be if he didn't feel like a horrible, horrible monster guilty of so much. He's had to look tired, desperate people in the eye to tell them that their bank will repo their apartment if they can't conjure up a insane amount of money in a month. He broke up with Rita before either of them even knew she was pregnant, never having married in his life. He couldn't even keep Mayzie out of trouble, and so early into her life. All he's truly done is create a kingdom of rats, infesting every crevice of society in his name.

Sometimes he thinks that maybe, if he could just find a more noble job, find someone who he could actually imagine living with, or even just get Mayzie the right resources that he'll fix everything. Redeem himself in the eyes of the jury. But who knows what has already taken matters into it's own hands?
