Eva Ness Holt is a supporting character in the anime series Free! and light novel High☆Speed!. She used to be a competitive snowboarder in Norway, with Mark, but eventually gave up after suffering an accident before a competition, and both moved to Japan. She was also a competitive swimmer as a child, but gave up after a fall out with her team. She is currently studying Sports Medicine in Hidaka University, where she is a manager of the swim club.

Eva is a calm, mature and soft-spoken person and is polite to people she doesn't have much trust or to older people, and tones down her speech towards those. She is actually a reliable person in the eyes of those people, but she is actually an outgoing and friendly person whom has a lot of random remarks and moments, causing people to doubt her intelligence and seriousness.
Once this side is known, she is rarely taken seriously and her seriousness in her hobbies and interests are doubted since she jumps around hobbies, and people see her personality as sloppiness and cowardice, and afraid of commitment. Eva hates that since she is actually hard working and only gives up for a major reason but being guarded makes her unwillingly to share those reasons.
With Mark, Eva has a very close bond but idiotic friendship, showing that she has the strange habit of throwing things that end up in Mark's face while saying 'yeet', and they are often seen arguing even about a potato. She has the habit to talk by referencing memes and vines, which makes other people unable to follow her unless they know what they are talking about. She is also naïve, as she reads the horoscope and believes in it, to the point of disliking Aquarius people.

Saturn obsessed
Eva loves the planet Saturn as it is the ruling planet of her Zodiac sign, and is seen having Saturn shapes that glow in the dark on her room, a necklace with a Saturn pendant and even a Saturn tattoo.
Pet Lover
Eva adopted two cats (that she brought to Japan) named Oreo and Menchie. Later on, she co-adopted an American Akita named Bamse along with Mark, that he took back to Norway with him.
Blue aesthetics
Eva has a weird love for blue and most of the things she owns (mainly clothes) are blue. Whenever she goes to Starbucks she orders blue drinks, and sometimes only eats blue candies and blue fruits. Her room is also blue.

Butterfly
When she was young, Eva joined a swimming club and swam butterfly, giving her some mastery on that stroke. She won several competitions either solo or with her relay team.
Snowboarding
After quitting the swimming club, Eva joined a snowboarding club and like before, she also won several competitions. She eventually quit after suffering a severe accident.
Tailoring
Despite not showing often, Eva is actually extremely skilled in tailoring and some of her clothing and plushies are actually made by her from scratch.
