Karma

Abilities:
Non existent, his body is super weak. He only has the shadow wings but they're too weak to carry him. He can transform them into a more useful form though, that he can use to carry small object, that have not much weight or performing simple actions.


Story:
Karma was born as a Shadow, which are creatures living on the outer ring of Eltara. This part of the world is hated by the godess who created it and would've been abandoned already if not for the Titans who can't let go of their dark halves. The light of the glowing leaves that comes from the big tree illuminating the inner ring of the world doesn't reach out as far as to spent any light to this part of the world. Everyone who lives there lives in total darkness. If a Shadow would step into the light, they would fade away. They have some special abilities that give them the opportunity to control blood as well as the shadows that aren't alive. But neither do they have blood nor the ability to see in this corrupted world. It's just total darkness. So  it seems there is no point to live for them. But instead of stepping in the sunlight they gathered together using their other senses, learning how to speak and eventually built a culture of their own.
This culture is led by a Queen, the first shadow that was born with eyes that can see through the darkness. It didn't take her long to find out how to built laterns. The other Shadows could now see as well. Strong light would hurt their eyes but just a little bit would help them coordinating in the darkness.

Karma was a boy following the Queen, living his life all the time. However, he felt like he was missing something. He was observing the society of shadows. It was a boring group of people. They were just living their lifes. Not stepping out of their territory, because they would fear, light could hit them, not letting in others into their culture, because they were afraid they might kill them by controling their blood. After all Shadows are fragile creatures that can't live in the sunlight. Their fear is understandable. But it was a pointless life, still.

One day, when Karma was walking around, thinking about what to do next, he found a woman, laying around on the floor. She was wounded really bad and uncouncious. Karma knew he if he would follow the queens orders he had to kill her now. But he really didn't want to. He was sick of all that, he wanted to get to know more people, he wanted to hear about places he could never see. He wanted to get to know her. The next few weeks he took care of her. When she woke up they talked. That person was Akuma. A devil, as she told him. He was really careful around her, after all he didn't know anyone outside of the Shadow realm. But she turned out to be a rather nice person. He couldn't bring himself to trust her fully, but at least he could act as if he would. Now, after a while, Akuma offered him a deal. She had a mastergame from Rena (more about this in Renas description) that would allow her to play a game with Karma that he couldn't win by the rules. And if she would win, she would get his abilities but she would have to bring him to Ryleath safely where he could become a demon by touching her demon spring. That would cure him from dying in sunlight and it would open the possibility for him to travel around.She would even give the opportunity to become demons to the other shadows if she would get the abilities. Karma was really unsure about this and asked the queen that he trusted a lot. But instead of listening to him, the Queen was disappointed in him for not killing the stranger. She was about to kill him, but in that moment Akuma challanged him to the master game. Accepting would give him time. Time he needs to stay alive, so he had no choise but to do so. He accepted the game. While it was going on, Akuma called Astaroth, her boyfriend, whom she had informed about the situation upfront. He would bring Karma to the demon spring right after the end of the game.

Everything turned out as expected. Karma became a demon. He wasn't affected by sunlight anymore and he could live his life. Akuma had other things to do at the time, so she wasn't in Ryleath but he got to know the other demons working for her. It turned out he became a really weak demon. His body strengh is the one of a Shadow, so close to non existent, while the only usueful feature – the shadow wings – weren't even strong enough to let him fly. At least he can carry small light objects when he would form the shadows into hand like shapes, which is a little useful. But that was fine. He didn't really left Akumas home for a while so he didn't get into fights where he would need strenght. He became a little more open towards the other Demons that work for Akuma and also discovered the internet, that Rena could provide for them.

He found out how much he loves cute stuff and got to know a lot of different people. Though it was weird, they were talking about places, that don't really exist, calling him a really good cosplayer as soon as he would post a picture of himself, even though he didn't really do a cosplay. Everyone on this thing called internet seemed to live in another world. But he didn't really care. It was fun. He even went to the overworld a few times. He was so weak, that priests wouldn't recognize his demonic energy. So he could hang out with people there. While he still has problems to trust anyone because of the queen who tried to kill him, he loves to smalltalkand be nice none the less.
