Hokori's Story:
Hokori was born into a metal smith's family. Her mother died when she was very young, so she and her father depended on each other for living. Her father was a famous metal smith specializing in weapons. One day, the king sent someone to order her father to forge an ultimate weapon, so that the king may use it in a war that he was planning to start with a neighbouring country. Her father followed the king's orders and skillfully made a sword, and on the day he completed it, he set off to personally deliver the weapon to the king. Little did he know that the king was planning to kill him upon receiving the weapon, so that no one will ever know how to craft another similar sword. Hokori waited at home day after day, but there was no sign of her father's return. Hokori decided to set off to look for him, without knowing that her father was killed by the king already. Eventually she got frustrated over not being able to find her father. She ran into the woods crying, and kept wandering in the woods, with no specific direction nor aim. She reached the edge of the forest, where the cliff was, but with her eyes full of tears, she wasn't able to see anything. She died due to the fall off the cliff. When the undertaker saw her, she was still crying. He knew that her father was dead and pitied her and her tragedy, so he gave Hokori a job -- guiding lost souls to their final destination, so that perhaps, she might be able to find her father among them one day.
