Born in the slums of a post-apolcolyptic neon city, Hisao scratches and claws his way into high society and, once there, burns his old life to the ground. He marries an elderly man for nothing more than status and money, but the two of them eventually fall in love. When the man passes on, Hisao falls into a hard depression and locks himself away in his mansion, wallowing in his own sorrows for many months. His involvement in a deadly auto racing game suffers in his absense, but it brings him and his star racer, Vegas, a lot closer.
