Kasparian is one of the oldest remaining royals and one of the few who remember what it was like before Berast took power. As the Sentinal, she is the guardian to tradition and the dragon's powerful history. She believes her people have lost their way and will stop at nothing to unseat Alissandre and restore the splendor she seeks to the kingdom.  When Orias stepped up to take down Berast, she failed to stand beside him and watched as he fled. Part of her quest to take the throne comes from her regret over her inaction. 

Her dragon voice is not the strongest, but it lingers longer than most. This allows her to hold sway over those who are now out of her reach.
