Wardrobe & Inventory
Mallory mostly wears comfortable knitwear such as sweaters and scarves. She is a bit self-consciousness about her thinness and often hides her body in layers or sleeves even when it's warm out. Her palette is also a bit subdued as she does not like to draw attention to herself and finds quiet colors comforting. For her, think kind of cabin/rustic sort of palette (mostly neutrals and desaturated darker versions of bolder colors such as dark brick reds).

Alice
[ friend, crush? fwb? ] Mallory's closest friend is probably Alice and the two frequently hang out alone, especially in the relative privacy of the barns Mallory also works at. Alice's uncompromising and bold personality complements Mallory's more wallflower nature quite well and helps bring out her more humorous side. The two often get into a bit of trouble (especially trespassing private game preserves)-- Alice coaxing her out of her shell and emboldening her. She also helps her experiment with different fashions as well as gender-affirming makeovers that go awry (read: lead to Alice's bicurious experimentation). It's unclear how Alice views Mallory ultimately outside of their friendship but it's obvious Bri that Mallory really loves Alice and it's enough to get her concerned that Mal might end up hurt which puts some secret tension between Bri and Alice.
Briana
[ friend ] Briana is one of the first people to really help Mallory with her gender presentation and to accept it, feeling solidarity over not following what was expected of them (Briana herself leaning masculine and sometimes facing discrimination for it). Despite their similar ages and Bri's shorter height, Briana can't help but feel like Mallory's older sister because of what she did for Mal. She is protective of her to a degree and one of the few times she got physical with someone was when they disrespected Mal. The two have a tender friendship marked by deep late night talks and bonding over animals.
