Profile

The current Artillery General of Alcazar. And also a waffle iron.

Appears very cool and intimidating, at least until you know what's wrong with him . . .

He's pretty, he's powerful, you can't tell his brain from an egg fried on a too-hot sidewalk. Absolutely living proof that a bottle of tomato ketchup could fill in for the role of general, and no one would even notice.

That's politics, for you.

Once upon a time he was an extremely powerful, extremely influential and above all superbly beautiful robot soldier, until one day the powers-that-be decided that his constant ragging and nagging about AI rights was getting pretty annoying. And this was in a world still grappling with and attempting to wrestle down the idea of nonhuman rights, let alone the rights of machines, so it was probably a hopeless case anyway. They tried to reset him, he escaped, he was extremely difficult to capture (see: stronk) and then eventually he got betrayed by one of his own kind and his AI was fried into what he had derogatorily been referred to several times by his opponents: a toaster.

That wasn’t supposed to happen. They were really only supposed to erase away his memories and alter his AI slightly, and put a more obedient personality in its stead. They still wanted his body, after all, it was one hell of a gorgeous one. For some reason though he had a couple of objections with this, and decided that, to hell with it, there was no way he would let them use his body if they were going to destroy his mind! So he installed a number of kill switches into his own body, designed to destroy any new AI the higher-ups tried to install.

And it did. Repeatedly. Eventually they got one to sort-of work, like a shambling zombie being led around by a brain on a stick, but that was sufficient for their purposes so they left it at that. And anyway it should prove a deterrence to any other AIs that got uppity about their place in the world, which was most definitely under the humans’ very heavy and very large boot. Which of course it did, he was the most powerful among them and then had been reduced to the level of a, and here's putting it mildly, microwave, and in the body of a terminator. They even kept his adorably rebellious clothing style, probably because someone thought it was funny.

Now he’s cute, obedient, entirely uncreative and barely capable of finding the station from which a train of thought might depart let alone getting on it, and is just about completely unable to function independently. Somehow he’s still the artillery general anyway, because for some reason leadership competence has never been a requirement for the role.

Warm bodies are cheap after all, and available by the thousands.

So now he functions as a mouthpiece for the grand general, as in, another one, as if the guy doesn’t have enough, but that’s okay the more the merrier!

And is entirely avoided by all the other generals, because no one likes being reminded how absolutely replaceable they truly are.

PERSONALITY

  • Looks fierce and cool
  • Quiet, obedient, childlike
  • Reserved, withdrawn
  • Very literal, uncomprehending
  • Single minded, mission oriented
  •  . . . the doorbell's ringing but nobody's home . . .

POWERS

  • Electricity Manipulation - controls electricity, able to use it to attack, to increase his speed or to temporarily convert his body into electricity
    • Electric Absorption - able to recharge and heal himself by drawing on another source of electricity, also able to store electricity and discharge it at a later time, electric attacks used against him are automatically absorbed
    • Electric Teleport - turns himself into electricity/data to near-instantaneously transport himself from one location to another, the “material” must be present at both ends (eg. a computer, a power plug, lightning)
    • Plasma Phase - turns his body into electricity, allowing him to pass through objects; the effect causes severe pain, burns and possible death if used to pass through creatures
    • Magnetism - uses electricity to generate magnetic currents
  • Vector Manipulation - able to control the velocity and direction of an object’s motion
    • Reflect - able to reflect attacks back to their source, can be set to activate automatically
  • Builder - able to transmogrify and manipulate earth and metals to create anything technology-based that he has a working understanding of
    • Bolt Armor - summons a special suit of armor that protects him and greatly increases his speed and attack
    • Arsenal - summons pre-created weapons from a personal subspace that he can quickly use
  • Electronic Communication - able to communicate with and have some level of control over existing electronics, not quite his strong point but he can do it!

NOTES

  • A copy of his original memories and personality has been kept for reasons, and installed . . . in a waffle iron. It is a very angry waffle iron, and dearly hopes to be one day reunited with its body
