General

Princess Sarah is a main character unique to a spinoff series that takes place every Friday within the novel's universe. She is an elegant, refined princess who rules over the fictional kingdom of Wohlsteim located in the heart of Germany. She replaces Sarah in The Princess Sarah Chapters, a chapter series where the characters assume different roles (Nathan becomes her butler/assistant, FlamDawg the Jester, etc.) and happily serve her. The chapters center around her living life as the princess of her kingdom, dealing with trouble among the townsfolk and any chaos that may ensue inside the castle. She also must deal with things such as her love life and having to attend various conferences while also struggling to uphold the standards others expect from her.

Personality

Princess Sarah is the embodiment of class and elegance... while other people are watching, anyway. She does her very best to be what a princess should be: graceful, refined, elegant, and surrounded by all manner of expensive, exquisite things. Aside from that, she's just like the normal Sarah, having a love for chocolate and hunky men, being rather aggressive when the situation calls for it, and being more than capable of fighting her own battles instead of relying on her servants. She relies on them to cook and clean so that she doesn't have to get up, though! She can be rather demanding at times, though her butler and closest advisor, Nathan, is always happy to serve her. She is a strong and kind ruler of her kingdom (despite the fact that she's never seen doing much of anything besides sitting on her throne) but is also shown to be rather ruthless on occasion; declaring war on various countries for seemingly no reason and also flinging people into the dungeon for looking at her on a bad day. Much like Sarah, she has more of a "wicked queen" motif at times where she's a lovely person to be around, but if you cross her you'll find yourself on the receiving end of a swift decapitation.

Appearance

Princess Sarah is a shorter woman with a slim and curvy build. She has long, flowing blonde hair, blue eyes, and wears black, rectangular glasses. Her usual outfit consists of a frilly pink dress and matching heels alongside various bits of assorted jewelry and makeup. The crown atop her head is solid gold, exceptionally elegant in design, and decorated with gemstones that can be any colors but are blue, green, and red in the novel. It should be noted that while some art I've received from others has her crown drawn smaller or off to the side, it should be drawn large enough to fit her head. She can be drawn wearing any kind of dress as she often wears different outfits depending on her mood. She has been seen wearing a black satin ball gown, a sparkly red dress, and even a golden battlesuit with which she took into battle to defend her kingdom.

History

The Princess Sarah Chapters debuted in Season 3 as a type of Star Chapter, which was a new, unique way to change up the chapters every now and again following the Friday Marathons from Season 2. While previous Star Chapters changed the narrator or flipped the character's roles, this chapter series made Sarah into an extravagant princess. I loved the series so much that I decided to scrap Star Chapters altogether and stick with this spinoff going forward. At the end of every school week I would write a new chapter for the series and this continued until the end of the novel. The lore behind this was that Sarah started writing with one of the special pens Nathan used to write the daily chapters, causing the entire fabric of the novel to twist and reform into something different. Thankfully, she didn't get too far with this which kept the damage to a minimum, limiting the chapters to be end-of-week only. If we're going by behind-the-scenes lore, it's actually because supermodel actress Heather Melbourne wanted to be a part of the production, but refused to be a simple character like the others.

In the novel's lore, a great war was fought between the French and the Germans over control of Germany (which was uninhabited, unexplored, and therefore unknown land at the time). The Germans were led by Sarah's father and the French by Zack's stepfather. In the end, the French were thwarted and the Germans gained control of Germany. The king named the land Wohlsteim after the wish he made for everlasting tranquility for his newly born daughter, seeing as she would be ruling over the kingdom in due time. None of this is ever mentioned however, we simply begin the series with Princess Sarah several years into ruling the country. In Chapter 18 of Season 5, The Return of The Chapters of Princess Sarah, the French army invades the kingdom in hopes of claiming the land. Their army is led by Zack, who is now king of the French in these chapters. The attack continues in Chapter 28, The Bunker of Princess Sarah, where she orders Nathan and Alex to infiltrate the French castle and confront Zack. This plot is never finished and instead tapers off in the following chapters. At one point Nathan asks about the war they were supposedly fighting, only to be ignored by the princess. It is never mentioned again afterwards.

During the first few chapters of Season 3, Princess Sarah had this rather charming quirk where she would speak in dramatic, often confusing sentences. For example, she claimed she'd send those who annoyed her to the "Plane of Oblivion" and allow those worthy to be "guided forth to the Holy Throne of Eternal Light". Nobody except Nathan could understand her when she spoke like this, and even he had some trouble deciphering her cryptic speech. This was gradually dropped in later chapters, but it made her appear much more interesting for her debut.

Something strange happened to The Princess Sarah Chapters towards the end of Season 4. They just... stopped working. I can't remember if I was doing anything specific at the time that caused this, but Fridays would come and go without any trips to Wohlsteim. Sarah would dress up as Princess Sarah and try to reclaim her chapters, but sadly The Story just wasn't functioning correctly and her actions were a futile effort. For the last few of the Season, Zack, Kotaro, and Nathan became princesses for a day. It wasn't until Season 5 that the chapters returned for something of a "second season", but by then it was stated that her chapters were canceled because she got too big for her britches and the producers were sick of her.
