About

Personality
He's friendly, loves to talk to people, he hates fighting and arguing (had enough of this already), loves to be a bit sarcastic or teasing others a little, generally light minded and happy nature though. He's very curious about everything he sees too. If someone attacks any of his friends though, he'll get extremely scary.
Story
Arc 1: Despair
At the beginning of time, Universe started creating the 6 gods – one for each element (fire, water, earth, air, light and darkness). Of course, while he was creating them, lots of ideas came to his mind and lots of ideas were abandoned, thrown away. It was just ideas after all. Nothing to be concerned about. Disappearing into nothingness. It was almost like a rule everyone believed in, despite no rules existing at the time. What was never created, would never started existing, right? That was what they thought.
If it was true... If they were right, this despair would never have started, but they were wrong. Obviously. The universe wasn't stable at that time, no rules, no gods. Everything could've happened. The lost ideas didn't fade. Not good enough to become a god, not allowed to disappear, they were thrown into a dimension called the 'Kodoku'. And they all had one instinct: If they managed to kill everyone else in there, they would be able to get out. They were given a second chance. And everyone wanted to succeed. Killing others also meant absorbing their abilities, thus the one who'd kill most, would be the most powerful. The more corpses on your path, the more chances to win.
One single soul didn't like it. He was different from most of the others. While most of the other Ideas were abandoned because they 'weren't good enough' The reason for his presence was his strength, that made him too dangerous to be created. Maybe it was because he already was stronger than everyone else by default, maybe it was, because he is basically the prototype for Sombra - the god of darkness. Much thought was put into this idea before it was abandoned. But one thing is for sure. He did not like fighting. He wanted to make friends. In total opposition to his instincts, he tried to talk to the others. However, whoever he tried talking to, attacked him. Out of options he started killing them. Killing one, killing two until one day he stopped counting. His emotions died over time. Soon, the once empty and completely white space transformed into a sea of blood. And the once emotionally loaded mind got lost in despair.

Arc 2: Hope
Ideas can come in any shape or form. They aren't bound to rules. They are merely incorporating the mood of the creator. Some are highly detailed and incredibly thought through, others are somewhat less incredible or even weak. But there are also the ones that nobody could really describe. Formless beings, with no abilities, no shape, just a block of something undefined. They are easily overlooked, killed by the weaker ones, because even they are able to do the job. Who knows, if they can even feel anything, fear, pain... Nobody knows.
The strongest one, the most heartless warrior, the most bloodthirsty fighter in the Kodoku though, did never meet any of these ideas. Not to this point in time at least. But when he first saw one, he couldn't help but feel pity. This small undefined being, that probably didn't even know why, still tried to attack him. A tragic attempt of an attack that is. It was so weak, The warrior did not notice, that it was meant to be an attack. He had a weird flashback of him trying to make friends and thought, this little thing tried the same. And he was brought back in time. It was there. Hope. Maybe, not everyone in this sea of blood would try to kill him. He called the small being his friend. He protected it. He tried to talk to it. It never responded, but that was fine. Nobody else had listened to him so far.
What he saw inside the creature was more, than it ever was. He saw Hope.

Arc 3: Death
As time went on, the warrior focused more on his so called friend, than the Kodoku. He did not want to win anymore. His price was in front of him. A small little friend. He only fought others, when he had to defend himself or his friend. The creature did not change. It remained an undefined mess until the very end. But for him, it was always more than that. One day though, the creature stopped moving. It started to dissolve itself, slowly turning to blood. The warrior was watching. Devastated. There was nothing he could do. The creature died. In front of his eyes. It did not get killed. But it had a limited life span. Shock overtook his body and he stopped moving, staring at the place, his friend was at just a while ago.
Other ideas attacked him, but with the shock he unconsciously created a barrier around himself that made him unreachable. Sometimes an attack went through, which is how parts of his horn and his left eye got lost. But he did not react. Not at all, until he was done thinking and reached the conclusion, that for this friend, he had to win and get out and find a better life. Because that would be what he would've wished for his friend if their roles were reversed. He released a ranged attack, that killed everyone in the Kodoku at once, which made him the winner. A portal formed out of blood in front of him opening a way to the future.

Arc 4: Future
It was a sunny day for Universe, he felt great. The cathedral of origin at this point in time was covered in nature, green plants rocks and various other small things, Taylor and Shiyuan, his two little children, as he likes to call them were playing around happily, when they found a person covered in blood walking up to them. Scared they ran away - at first, but looking back, Taylor realized, that the guy collapsed. Hesitant she and Shiyuan got closer to him and glared at his face, unsure what to think of this occurrence. They had never seen him before. Carefully they tried talking to him, asking who he was, whether he needed help and if he might have something to ask Universe for.

He was overwhelmed. This world. People talking to him, people wanting to help him. What was that? Did he really get out? Or were they about to kill him soon too? Trying to trick him with an illusion or something... He was the one, who won the Kodoku. The one who did not do anything but killing in his life so far. He couldn't really comprehend, that this dream, he always wanted, but he thought was impossible had come true. "Is this... Is this the outside? Am I really out?" He asked and the two were confused. They explained that he had just randomly appeared and he was the weird one here and all that, but after a while he just smiled peacefully and fell asleep looking at the sky.
The two were confused even more so than before, not sure whether they could trust him or not. Was he really a genuine person? Maybe dangerous? Something about him was off, not just the blood he had all over himself, no, also his aura seemed weird... Not necessarily dangerous but it made them feel uncomfortable. Somewhat eerie.

Warily they watched over him. Curious but also slightly uneasy they waited for him to wake up. During that time Universe joined them. He felt that something weird was going on. When he saw the stranger, Universe blinked, for a moment it seemed like he was surprised, confused and even anxious, but that went on for only a split second. The landscape changed and everyone found themselves in front of Universe throne. The blood, the guy was covered in disappeared. Only the tips of his hair remained slightly tainted. Slowly he opened his eyes, standing up, looking around confused. "Who are you?", Universe raised his voice first. The stranger stayed silent thinking for a moment. "Nobody asked me that before. If I ever had a name, I have forgotten about it." He clearly felt uncomfortable, Taylor and Shiyuan could tell from his face.
"Do you know what this place is?" The stranger shaked his head and Universe went on explaining. "It is a place, where no blood will be shed. Only people, the Universe isself declares worthy will be able to get here. But I haven't decided that you are worthy. In fact, a long time ago, you were abandoned. How come, you are here? That is, what I am asking myself right now." The stranger went into a defensive position, stepping away from Universe a bit. His eye was glaring in fear... Or was it determination? "Rest at peace, nobody here will attack you. I don't know why you are here. But you came back. Apparently something happened, that even I am not aware of. Feel free to rest here, until you decide how to go on with your life." The stranger relaxed a little. "You seem to know me. Could you please tell me who I am?" He seemed curious, but not that keen to find out. And when Universe explained, slowly his face turned somewhat expressionless, pale. He seemed unable to find the right emotion. The Kodoku. All this Killing... It seemed so incredibly meaningless. What was all of this for? Why did they have to do this? Nobody cared in the end. Not even the creator of the universe was aware of it.

Futile.
.
.
.

Absolutely pointless, right?

The mood was down in the room. The cathedral of origin wasn't as sunny anymore. Clouds were covering the sky. Taylor and Shiyuan both looked at universe and the stranger. One glancing at the other, regretful sad, the other one kneeling and looking at the ground, unsure what to think. Slowly, Universe stood up and walked towards him. "Look up. I didn't mean to create you at first, but yet you are here. The least thing I can do for you is to provide you a future. Keep on living. Do not give up. I shall do now, what I should've done a long time ago. I will provide you with a name. From today on, you will be Vanir."

The guy was unsure what to think. But it was right. He did not come here to grieve. He came to live. He wasn't sure what to think of the creator at this time. The one who abandoned him. He did not know what to do from now on. But he decided to accept his words and take the name for him. Vanir was born. What a fitting name. It sounds like a dark, sinister name and yet it has a strong sound to it.

That was, how Vanir received his future.

Arc 5: Love
"Hey, are you even listening?!! You shouldn't just sleep around here!" . . . "Ahh... sorry it was just so nice around here", Vanir replied to the other guy with a warm smile.
Not long ago he had left Universe to discover the world. Or the worlds as it seems. He found out there were several. The first portal he stepped through led him to Ilirea. It was incredible to him, to see the capital city. So many people were doing business with each other, talking, trading, laughing, having fun! He could've never imagined that in his life. Totally stunned, overwhelmed, he was when he saw this. It was an incredible moment for him. Most likely also the first time in his life, he ever let his guard down. No, this was reality. The Kodoku was over.
He learned that people fight each other, but not to the death, no, they go against each other in tournaments. He watched one and realized, that he should probably stay out of them. Not a single one of these people would have a chance against him. But he found out there were people who did not fight at all. And he decided to become someone like that. It was what he dreamed of. Vanir decided to look for a place he could stay at and went into the new settlers area (region tbn) Where he met Noir
The guy woke him up from his sleep in the shadow of a tree. "Does the place belong to someone?", he asked, wondering if that was the reason why the guy started talking to him. He just earned a raised eyebrow. "You shouldn't sleep here BECAUSE the place isn't owned by anyone. Guilds will fight over this territory. And this is the place they're expected to meet each other. Soon. Do you want to get caught in the crossfire?" "A fight will happen here? What a shame... That would totally ruin the place.", he replied with a somewhat sad expression, as a beautiful butterfly came up to him and sat down on his hand. He smiled peacefully at the little creature. The other one was confused, what a weird guy. He was careless, he seemed strong, he even gave off some kind of ominous feel as though he was constantly ready to kill, but at the same time he seemed so fragile and helpless, as if he needed protection. So weird.

Noir explained he was a mercenary, hired to fight for one of the guilds inspecting the place beforehand, possibly getting rid of any assassins luring in the area, then... he suddenly turned around having his blade out blocking a guy with a knife. That was fast. And perfect timing, Noir was distracted giving his identity away after all. But the Assassin didn't have a chance. They fought a short battle but A sword just has a way higher range than knives. Even if they were poisoned, if they couldn't reach the mercenary, they'd be useless. But the reason the Mercenary was winning wasn't just the range, he was incredibly skilled as well. Vanir never saw this kind of skill. Well... not in this world at least. But his surprise didn't last long. As the Assassin started getting injured Vanir felt sick. Seeing the blood reminded him of his past. And when the assassin was killed, he was about to throw up. Death. He had enough of that. He didn't want to see that ever again. He thought he had left that time... But now he had to watch it again. The butterfly had left short before the fight started. Some of the plants around him started rotting, as his memories came back.
The mercenary saw what was happening, he was stunned. All that reaction by one dead guy? around here it wasn't that much of an unusual sight. The two guilds in this area couldn't stand each other at all, they were constantly fighting. It was a great place for mercenaries to find work. To him this was normal. And he thought that was the same for the guy who slept here. That's how he interpreted that ominous feeling he got. But it seemed that was a wrong assumption. He got closer to Vanir, he wasn't sure what to think of the rotten plants, but he couldn't just leave him like that. He felt like he had to protect him, to comfort him. Noir hugged Vanir. "It's alright. Just close your eyes and think about something nice. You'll feel better. I did it a lot as a child." Vanir was stunned. A hug? That was something he never experienced before. He couldn't really believe it. It felt so warm and nice. Was that... How it felt to have a friend? His thoughts were totally confused, going back and forth between the dead assassin and the new friend he found. The plants stopped rotting. Infact, something incredible happened, they grew back? Noir wasn't sure what it was, but he felt drawn to Vanir. He wanted to stay with him and protect him.
"Do you want to hire me? I can protect you and prevent you from seeing stuff like that." Vanir looked up. The mercenary seemed cold at first, he hadn't smiled to this point. But his voice was warm and nice. And his hug too. Both of them didn't know why they were drawn to each other but they knew they'd get along well.
Vanir agreed to Noir becoming his bodyguard. As Vanir didn't have a residence at the time, Noir brought him to the house he was living in at the time, together with his little brother Ciel. Ciel refused to leave his room as soon as he noticed someone else was in the house. Ciel was the one Noir became a mercenary for. He wanted to make sure to give his brother a good life. Ciel wasn't feeling well emotionally ever since their parents died. He told Vanir about this even though he didn't know him that long. He just trusted him.
As Vanir revealed that he didn't have money, he was kinda shocked and about to withdraw his offer to work as a bodyguard when Vanir offered a different payment. He let a small plant grow from the table, it had fruits on it and flowers, a few butterflies started flying around it. "I should probably not show that to anyone else... But i can provide for your brother like this. Is that alright?" Noir couldn't really speak a word at first. That ability... It was one that was only available to gods, wasn't it? And whoever this was, it wasn't Llyr. Everyone knew that Llyr was the god of this world and the only one with the ability to create. But this wasn't LLyr. "How do you have this ability?" Noir asked confused. "Long story... I... don't really want to talk about it right now." The plant disappeared and the butterflies fell down while he thought about the answer he decided not to give. Something horrible must have happened to him. That was for sure. But it seemed like a reliable payment. "Alright, agreed."

Both of them started getting closer over time, they got really good friends. The two were travelling around a lot. At first Ciel didn't come along at all, but he always was there whenever they got back and slowly he started at least showing himself around Vanir. He noticed how much Noir liked the guy and he accepted that. And at some time he started joining them on their travels.

This is how Vanir found his first friend. And this is how Vanir found out what love is. It was a beautiful friendship. Noir was always overprotective of Vanir and his brother, he was cold towards everyone else, he didn't let anyone get close to their little family. Vanir happy and great, like he never was before. He saw nature, people living in peace, animals, everything was so pretty. Noir did a good job at keeping them from any bad places.
They would also start travelling to different worlds. There were a lot of interesting things to discover. And the other worlds would be new for Noir and Ciel as well, not just for Vanir.

Vanir could finally enjoy life. Like he always wanted. And he had to enjoy it twice as much, for the friend who passed away in the Kodoku.

Noir

bodyguard/ friend
toyhouse link not available yet - The first time he saw Vanir, he was sleeping. Totally peaceful and unbothered by any potential danger. From that moment on Noir decided he had to protect Vanir. It was a weird feeling of having to take care of some kind of innocent child. Vanir was flattered by that and so their travels started. Vanir is often careless and even though he could protect himself, he really likes to depend on Noir. Noir obviously realized after a while, just judging by Vanirs interesting abilities and the fact that his hair is covered in blood, that he wasn't that innocent helpless child. But he couldn't help but seeing him this way, trying to be the responsible adult in the situation.

Ciel

friend
Ciel is Noir's brother, a very shy and anxious child. He didn't talk to Vanir at all at first. But he warmed up to him very slowly over time. He still won't talk to Vanir but he is okey with him petting his head or in general being around him. Ciel sometimes even smiles around Vanir by now, which was a huge step for him.
