Physical description: Rika has back length black hair that she keeps in a ponytail. Her eyes are brown with bags under them. She is often on the verge of collapse. She is often described as cute as an idol, even if her personality is lacking.

Clothing: Rika wears a open lab coat, over a white dress shirt and blue tie, with a black skirt that goes past her knees. She wears dark blue Mary Janes, with white socks. When outside, she wears a neat hat.

Personality: A crabby person when you meet her, gets nicer as you get to know her. Swears a lot. Generally very helpful if asked, even if it isn't put in the nicest way. Tends to be on edge all the time, and always serious. She examines people intently, and tries various types of stimulus, to see how they react.

Bio: Rika Sakai has had a very unfortunate life. Born into a very successful and rich family, as Satoshi Sakai, she was placed into a world of stress and pressure. Her mother wanted to raise a prodigy, and would do so through any means necessary. Through the immense stress and worry placed upon her, Rika developed hypersomnia. She discovered this by falling asleep at the table, head first into soup. Because of this, and the feeling that she's not good enough, she tends to on edge, with a unhealthy dose of self hatred.

Rika originally viewed being trans as defiance. She didn't like thinking that she might be a girl, or liking the changes to make her seem more feminine, but she enjoyed the thought of her mother’s disappointment. Surprisingly though, her mother didn't disapprove of lash out. In fact, she seemed to support it, even going out of her way to ensure that their colleagues would know about Rika’s new name, pronouns and appearance. In truth, this was all done to ensure that Rika would never fall out off her control. Today, Rika is still uncomfortable with being trans, disliking the small bits of pleasure when she's called anything but a boy.

Her mother was a Psychologist, so Rika trained under her. As it turned out, her mother was using Rika as a nothing more than a experiment, to see if prodigies were born or made. No progress was made, due to such a small subject size, but her mother was confident in her conclusion that prodigies were made. Rika, in the meantime, was invited to Hope’s Peak, in hopes that it would be her escape.

In truth, Rika is more of a therapist, than a psychologist. She prefers helping people, rather than studying the human mind. She has become incredibly skilled at identifying various mental problems and helping the patient get through it, doing it in remarkable speed. A more...controversial achievement of hers, was a successful and harmless form of gay conversion therapy, something she regrets everyday of her life. Her mother, however, was insanely proud with the achievement. Science, after all, could never be bad.
