Eram lived his early years in a family who struggled to make ends meet. His mother was a house keeper and his father was a racecar driver. His parents were killed in a car accident when he was 7 and he was sent to his aunt's to live. His aunt wanted him to act more "civilized and ladylike", something Eram would not have. Eram ran away and spent 8 years living on the streets, saving almost every penny he earned from odd jobs. He quickly learned how desirable private information can be, and taught himself to hack into the accounts of big gangs so he can sell some of the information to the opposing gangs.

One day when Eram was looking into the files of a local hospital which was the base of a larger scale gang, he came across an interesting looking application named ALYX.exe. Curious, Eram opened it and was greeted by Alyx, who apparently was a ghost that had been trapped in a computer and was unable to pass on into the Afterlives. Dispite the differences in their backgrounds, Eram and Alyx quickly became best friends.

When Eram was 15, he had saved up enough to buy his own car. The car became his house and job. Eram started street racing and his racing linage served him well. But he too got into an accident. A large truck rammed the back of his car and sent it flying. The car was flipped upside down and part of the engine caught on fire.

For days Eram hung between life and death. His left leg had to be amputated at the thigh. Also, his right eye was damaged beyond use. Dispite this, Eram pulled through and recovered. He was given a cyborg leg and eye, which both worked just as well as the biological parts. A computer chip was implanted in his brain to give him the ability to control his bionic parts like they were his real eye and leg, however it still took months to relearn how to use his new limb and eye. He perservered through most of what seemed hellish years, until he was fed up with it all, and just walked out. Had he stayed, he might have learned to walk without a limp, and not have strikingly different eyes, but he couldn't wait that long.

After a few weeks wandering from place to place, he met Rane, Hayle, and Hayle's Aunt, who took him in, in exchange for keeping their old kitchen utilities in proper working order.
